Ciate Lip Lustre

Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm ($17) is one of several new product launches from the brand new Ciate Makeup Collection. For a company that’s only merely dabbled in color cosmetics in the past I’m quite delighted by their first time offerings into the world of makeup! Ciate, you’re doing it right!

Read my review of the Lip Lustre High Shine Balm below and decide for yourself!

Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm

There are too many instances where a brand wakes up one morning and decides, “Hey I wanna created a new haircare collection…” Wait, what? You’re a makeup brand why are you venturing into haircare! Sometimes brands like to venture outside their little niches and sometimes they succeed in a major way where as other times, like most times, they fail in a major way. Ciate has ventured outside its nail polish roots and created an entire makeup line that includes eyeshadow, lipgloss, and so much more and thus far they are succeeding in a major way! Affordable pricing, excellent formulas, cute packaging, yes, indeed, they are doing it right.

The proof is in the pudding so they say and Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm proves Ciate does makeup right!

Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm Swatches (Wild Fire)

Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm is available in eight shades and is a high shine Vitamin E enriched formula. These are a sheerer lipgloss that add a touch of shimmer, a touch of color, and a lot of shine to lips. The texture is a thin textured lightweight consistency that has a moist feel on lips with a highly shiny finish. They are not tacky or sticky yet manage to wear as long as a MAC Lipglass at around three to four hours. The gloss is comfortable and apparently promises to feel like a balm with a skin softening formula. Indeed, the formula feels great on my lips and my drier lips seem to look the formula a good deal as they are lightly moisturizing through the wear. They pigment does run sheerer, I tried one shade which was entitled Wide Fire, this provides a hint of reddish coral on my lips with a nice hint of gold sparkle! I did detect a very slightly fragrance and flavor but it was very little so sensitive users likely won’t mind in the least!

All in all a most excellent gloss that provides a hint of nice color, excellent shine, and a gorgeously long wearing formula.

Me likey!

If you’re in the market for a new lipgloss I’d recommend checking out Ciate Lip Lustre High Shine Balm!

Ciate, you’re definitely taking on the makeup world with style.

I wanted to get this due to the cute packaging. But honestly when I swatched it there was just WAY too much glitter in there. It felt gritty too? I don’t know if it was just me since I see that you liked it… but this was such a fail for me and I wanted to like it so much 🙁

gritty? I didn’t get that at all Emily! So sorry you experienced that 🙁 Maybe try one of their other glosses, they have two different gloss formulas I believe 🙂

I have that sweater too! I was actually going to wear it today but couldn’t find my white cami to wear underneath. BTW, have you seen the new Catwoman hi-tops at Journey’s? I’m trying to decide for my last b-day in my 30’s if I’m going to get the white Wonder Woman hi-tops or a TF quad, or maybe both? I’ll only be 39 once!

I’m loving your swatches from Ciate-a few things have jumped into my sephora online cart waiting for next month’s sale 😉
