The Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette is an affordable $19.99 and includes twenty new eyeshadows in an array of both warmer and cooler shades. This comes housed in thinner, sturdy cardboard magnetic closure palette.
The Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette to me feels like a combination of shades you’ll find in your Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, the Lorac Unzipped Palette, and even the Tarte Tartelette Palette. The palette really has a wide range of shades that can easily be found across many different palettes you MIGHT already own. Visually looking at it the shades are all over the place without any rhythm or reason. I felt like Revealed 1 and Revealed 2 kinda followed a certain line and I knew the looks I wanted to create with it and I also could get a general idea for the shades I wanted to use together.
With Revealed 3 it brings together a lot of everything in a lot of different finishes and formulas. You’re getting some mattes here, some velvety finish shades, some metallics, and all of this is across a vast shade spectrum of both cooler and warmer shades. There are browns, creams, golds, cranberries, pinks, purples…It only contains twenty shades but for some reason it feels like oh so many more! Typically I don’t like palettes that don’t follow specific color rules. I don’t like having to guess which shades go together and I’d rather the palette pair shades together that work. I felt like I didn’t mind so much with the Revealed 3 palette though as it just seems very easy to locate two or shades that paired up together well without a lot of guess work on my part.
One of the things I liked most about the palette was many of the shades ran a little thinner and a lot less frosty as the shades found in the Revealed 1 and Revealed 2 Palette. Don’t get me wrong both those palettes were divine but the texture of the shades in those reminded me a lot of the velvety, thicker frostiness of Stila Eyeshadows like Kitten. Revealed 3 seems to have a thinner formula with a lot less frostiness.
Of course, there are hit or miss shades here. Some shades are beautifully textured with a very soft, easy to blend formula this extends to the matte shades as well. Other shades are a little more powdery and denser with some chalkiness. I find eyeshadow primer goes a long way at keeping these shadows in place and also giving them a smoother more refined finish. All in all though I’d say 90% of the palette is filled with beautifully textured eyeshadows that are very nice. I see some fading but no creasing when I wear these without primer so I do recommend a primer for the best wear.
The thing about Coastal Scents is they have sales often and you can get palettes like the Revealed 3 Palette for as little as $9.95! Needless to say at that price this is a great palette to own (and yes even at the $19.95 price tag it is also a worthy pick up). Revealed 3 is a nice assortment of eyeshadows for those on a budget that aren’t looking to spend $40 and upwards for an eyeshadow palette from a mid-range brand. I liked both Revealed 1 and 2 and I feel 3 brings plenty of other options to my eyeshadow wardrobe. For me it was liking getting shades from a variety of different popular palettes on the market at the moment and fitting them ALL into one place!
If you’re on a beauty budget the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette should fit your budget nicely!
