The Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette launched officially today and pays home to twenty brand new shades of neutral eyeshadows in an array of gorgeous shades. You might already own Revealed 1 and 2 and love them so the introduction of the Revealed 3 Palette is likely very excited.

See my review and swatches below!

The Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette is an affordable $19.99 and includes twenty new eyeshadows in an array of both warmer and cooler shades. This comes housed in thinner, sturdy cardboard magnetic closure palette.

The Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette to me feels like a combination of shades you’ll find in your Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, the Lorac Unzipped Palette, and even the Tarte Tartelette Palette. The palette really has a wide range of shades that can easily be found across many different palettes you MIGHT already own. Visually looking at it the shades are all over the place without any rhythm or reason. I felt like Revealed 1 and Revealed 2 kinda followed a certain line and I knew the looks I wanted to create with it and I also could get a general idea for the shades I wanted to use together.

With Revealed 3 it brings together a lot of everything in a lot of different finishes and formulas. You’re getting some mattes here, some velvety finish shades, some metallics, and all of this is across a vast shade spectrum of both cooler and warmer shades. There are browns, creams, golds, cranberries, pinks, purples…It only contains twenty shades but for some reason it feels like oh so many more! Typically I don’t like palettes that don’t follow specific color rules. I don’t like having to guess which shades go together and I’d rather the palette pair shades together that work. I felt like I didn’t mind so much with the Revealed 3 palette though as it just seems very easy to locate two or shades that paired up together well without a lot of guess work on my part.

One of the things I liked most about the palette was many of the shades ran a little thinner and a lot less frosty as the shades found in the Revealed 1 and Revealed 2 Palette. Don’t get me wrong both those palettes were divine but the texture of the shades in those reminded me a lot of the velvety, thicker frostiness of Stila Eyeshadows like Kitten. Revealed 3 seems to have a thinner formula with a lot less frostiness.

Of course, there are hit or miss shades here. Some shades are beautifully textured with a very soft, easy to blend formula this extends to the matte shades as well. Other shades are a little more powdery and denser with some chalkiness. I find eyeshadow primer goes a long way at keeping these shadows in place and also giving them a smoother more refined finish. All in all though I’d say 90% of the palette is filled with beautifully textured eyeshadows that are very nice. I see some fading but no creasing when I wear these without primer so I do recommend a primer for the best wear.

The thing about Coastal Scents is they have sales often and you can get palettes like the Revealed 3 Palette for as little as $9.95! Needless to say at that price this is a great palette to own (and yes even at the $19.95 price tag it is also a worthy pick up). Revealed 3 is a nice assortment of eyeshadows for those on a budget that aren’t looking to spend $40 and upwards for an eyeshadow palette from a mid-range brand. I liked both Revealed 1 and 2 and I feel 3 brings plenty of other options to my eyeshadow wardrobe. For me it was liking getting shades from a variety of different popular palettes on the market at the moment and fitting them ALL into one place!

If you’re on a beauty budget the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette should fit your budget nicely!

I am intrigued enough to take a look at the Coastal Scents website. Did you notice how this palette is listed “on sale” at $19.95 with the original price of $39.95 crossed out? I might shell out $20 for it but never $40 for a Coastal Scents product!

YEAH! I def would not spend $40! Coastal Scents has sales all the time and you likely can score it for 10 bucks at some point! But I don’t think I’d do $40 and I doubt CS would even end up listing it at that price anytime soon…! they are always about the deals 😀

Coastal Scents always has these at the “sale” price of 19.95 which is actually their regular price. They have said the reason they have the $39.95 price tag is because other companies asked them to value their palette at that price since similar palettes are being sold for $40 and up. 🙂

I had no idea they were making a third Revealed palette! It’s definitely weird that there’s no real color scheme, but I guess they’re doing something different this time. Thanks for the review!

it’s kinda a mix of all different shades 🙂 my pleasure sammi!

I love Revealed 2, and really didn’t think I needed 3. But your swatches have changed my mind! So many pretty mauves and purples and cranberries. Damn you Muse and your awesome swatches LOL! 🙂 I’ll wait for a $9.95 sale though. Patience my precious.

I ordered mine this morning. I love all the pinks and purples. Thank you for swatching! They look great. I really like Revealed 2, with the pinks and pinky nudes, so I’m glad they came out with 3.

  • Kiss & Make-up

Oh nice! If the brand was available here I’d definitely consider picking up this palette.

It does look like that their is a purplish/pinkish theme here as so many of the colours have that hue. Not being a purple fan myself, I can see that it would really good to own if you like those colours or wear them occasionally. I think you might not buy an expensive palette of those colours – but you would buy this one because of the price. Anyway, some high end brands are putting out palettes lately that are just poor in quality, so this one would be a bargain.

Great swatches! Some of these are uber-pigmented! I love seeing neutral palettes without too many meh-brown/beige-based shades so this is great! I just wish this palette didn’t have so many shades. I get lost when there are more than 10-12 shades in a palette LOL.

Coastal Scents also sell their product on E(vil)bay. They have a legitimate store. I scored my Revealed 2 on there during their Christmas sales. Some lf the shades in this palette remind me of Revealed 2. Muse, would you say they’re similar?

Coastal has these on sale every now and then for 9.99 vs 19.99..I think the 39.99 is a gimmick as I’ve never seen it sale for that but, that said, it’s a great palette. I have the nakeds 1,2 & 3..lorac pro 1 & 2, Revealed 1 & 2. The tartlette one too. (and many more) I was looking at the lorac unzipped collection and as it is, I just can’t justify any more rosy golds though they seem to lean more warm. or neutrals. SIGH. In my opinion, just by a looking at swatches, the revealed 3 reminds me of a combo look alike of the lorac ones..with the more “red” hued pinks and brighter yellow golds. That’s just by glancing. I think the revealed 1 & 2 look like the entire naked suite and in person, very close dupes. The quality of the shadows are surprisingly good with coastal so if anyone is considering more purples, golds or pinks, it’s worth looking over. I am starting to go cheap first to see if I’ll use something. I may pick it up…haven’t decided yet. But I’m wishing someone would come out with some greens, blues, etc (naked 4?) 🙂
