E.L.F. Frozen Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine Review & Swatches

E.L.F. Frozen Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine

The E.L.F. Frozen Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine Lipglosses in Pink Kiss and Fuchsia Fireworks are a range of limited edition glosses that launched with the E.L.F. Disney Frozen Elsa Makeup Collection for Spring 2015.

E.L.F. did something a little different with Elsa’s Collection compared to other Disney Collections they’ve done. For example, these two new Super Glossy Lip Shines are $2.99 each and do not come in a set the way, for example, the E.L.F. Disney Jasmine A Whole New World Lip Collection did.

This is nice because you have the option of shades to choose from but also it’s a little more expensive considering some of the past lip sets were marked at around $5.99 and included THREE lip products. Purchased individually you’re spending $6 and lacking one full size product that would be available in sets that launched in the past. $2.99 isn’t a big deal really but it deserves mentioning these details none the less!

E.L.F. also happened to improve considerably on the packaging with the Frozen Collection. Not only did they release some very cute palettes with this collection with great art work but some of that also extends to the lipgloss tubes as well. Past collections seemed to concentrate more on the outer boxes and packaging versus the actual makeup contents. This time around some of the Disney artwork actually extends to the makeup products which is great!

In this case, you’re getting a silver snowflake with a profile of Elsa on each tube of gloss. It’s not as pretty as say the Eyeshadow Palette in this collection which features a full color print of Elsa but none the less a vast improvement on past E.L.F. Disney Collaborations.

Pink Kiss and Fuchsia Fireworks are the two shades available with the collection as I mentioned above. Pink Kiss is actually a permanent shade so if you like the swatch below and want it you can get it from E.L.F. any old time (just not in the limited edition packaging obviously). Fuchsia Fireworks is new and not repromoted as far as I know.

I actually like the Super Glossy Lip Shine formula but I find the shades without shimmer or frost are the best ones. I have several E.L.F. Disney Lip Sets that have this formula and all of them were great. The formula on those was glossy, thicker, and super shiny! I really liked them and they even kinda reminded me of Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss (a very fond favorite of mine).

Unfortunately, these two shades were awful. Both have a very, very strong scent and flavor which I didn’t mind in the least. What really bothered me was the petroleum-like texture that proved difficult to apply and spread on my lips. They applied patchy, chunky, and just looked gross and uneven on. There’s a lot of sparkle in Fuchsia Fireworks and Pink Kiss was a frosty mess! I was pretty shocked as thus far I’ve had good experiences with this gloss formula but these two shades just failed on me in a major way.

Oh well!

E.L.F. Frozen Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine give us a vast improvement on packaging but this time around the formula fails. I hope E.L.F. continues to improve upon the Disney Makeup Collections as they definitely have the potential to create great things!

You can get the E.L.F. Frozen Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine now at Walgreens.

Elf is weird like that, some of their products are so fantastic, and others are total duds!

I agree that the cream colors are superior for some reason. I’ve been wanting to review a few of these from the Frozen collection but none of my lock stores have it yet and I’m far to impatient to order it online >.<

yeah these were just bad. The clear, sheerer shades have a nicer texture! very jelly-like and shiny but the sparkle ones are awfullllllllll! I hope you find a display in your area soon!

I agree with all of the above comments. I saw these and they looked a little too sparkle and shimmer for my lips. Thanks for trying these.
