Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation Review & Swatches
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation ($7) is a new Invisible Camouflage Foundation launching with the Hard Candy Spring/Summer 2015 Collection that will be available in 8 permanent shade selections.
Hi, I’m the Muse, I’m a foundation and concealer snob. If there is one thing in the makeup world I believe in splurging on it would be 1. foundation and 2. concealer. I am under the impression that I cannot for the life of me not only find a color match from drugstore foundations or concealers but also find a formula I actually LIKE using. Some are too heavy, some too cakey, others are orange, too beige…it’s just a sea of foundations that just do not work for me. Rarely am I able to actually find a foundation product at the drugstore that I’m happy with! Likewise for concealer (although the drugstore concealer world has been making some huge strides lately)!
I present you with Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation and challenge you to buy it and use it. And proceed to love it.
I purchased Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation in Light last week and proceeded to use it for a total of eight days and all through those eight days I was a very happy girl. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation is marketed as containing superfine pigments for seamless full coverage without looking caked-on. It’s infused with kaolin clay that’s excellent for oil absorption. They promise the wear to be up to 12 hours.
Since I was talking about drugstore concealer above and how it’s come a long way from the dry, cake formulas from days of old I should likely mention that Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer is one of those new age, creamy, extremely pigmented concealers that’s budget friendly and has an excellent formula that applies easily and wears long and hard!
I was a little worried that Hard Candy Glamouflauge Foundation would be as pigmented as its concealer sister. I don’t desire full coverage foundation but prefer something lighter and sheerer since my complexion doesn’t need a ton of concealer. I just want something to ease dullness, brighten, and even out skin tone. Lucky enough, although they shade the same name, Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation is actually quite customizable and can be worn sheer or built up to almost medium coverage!

The other thing that worried me was the fact they call it a liquid to powder formula that absorbs oil. I have drier skin so this didn’t seem like a match made in foundation heaven.
Lucky enough it works great for me.
This comes housed in a 1.1 oz pump jar. The pump works great! I had no issues with it sticking nor did it pump too much out. I felt the flow was great and the packaging good. My only compliant was there is a wrap surround the top and when I removed it, it left a very sticky residue on the bottle which annoyed me.
The formula isn’t a traditional cream or liquid foundation. I would say it runs more towards me a thicker fluid and on some levels reminds me of Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation on texture. It applies very, very smoothly without adhering or sticking to drier areas. It does have a slight matte powder-y dry down but I thought it looked more satiny soft than matte. It wasn’t dry, it wasn’t cakey, it was however, soft, seamless, and very flawless. The light shade did run a bit darker but it still brightened up my skin, provided skin evening coverage, and looked very natural on my skin. I can’t speak for oil control as I am a bit dry right now but you can feel the formula transforming as you apply so it does have powder set but as I said nothing that made my skin look drier or that adhered to the flakier areas on my face.
I’m all about natural, seamless coverage and that’s exactly what this provided. On days my skin was looking lackluster I couldn’t easily build this to almost medium coverage. There’s plenty enough pigment here to even out skin tone, conceal redness or darkness, and minor blemishes, etc…! And on the days my skin wasn’t looking dull I could easily get away with sheerer application that just brightened up and evened out my skin tone.
Wear time was quite good for me as I got about 6 hours in before seeing very minor fading issues!
All in all Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation proved an excellent beauty budget foundation. I’m still amazed I paid $7 for this. I really enjoyed it. Excellent wear, beautiful formula, and an affordable price tag? I like!
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation surprises and delights and proves that you don’t have to pay a ton of money for foundation to look flawless.
