Wet n Wild Cherry Frost Silk Finish Lipstick6

Wet n Wild Cherry Frost Silk Finish Lipstick cost me a whole .99 cents and I’m Muse Approving it. People, I have lipsticks in my stash that set me back $50 bucks and I’m just throwing it all out the window and recommending you pick up at least ONE shade of Silk Finish Lipstick and tell me you don’t love it.

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick (.99 cents) is such a cheap thrill. The more colors I collect, the more inclined I am to rave it.

Recently Wet n Wild revamped and repackaged their Silk Finish Lipstick Collection for Spring 2015. I’ll admit the packaging annoys me because the lipstick does not swivel quickly down which means my dorky self is likely going to take a chunky or a slice out of my favorite shade when replacing the cap. But them be the breaks kids for a buck!

Aside from the rubbish packaging I must say this is a fab formula. The texture is thin and weightless with a slightly slick glide across lips that feels quite hydrating. The shades have a very slight sheen and wear very smooth, soft, and even on my drier lips. Cherry Frost is kinda my new favorite of the month. This is a cherry red with a very slight frost. It’s an unusual little shade because it feels like it can pull either warm or cool. I can get about five of wear out of this formula and the colors does not migrate or fade plus my lips remain pleasantly moist through the wear.

Score!

$1 lipstick for the win!

Funny thing, Cherry Frost is a dupe for a MAC limited edition lipstick I adore but I’m having a brain fart and can’t remember the damn name at the moment!

Wet n Wild Cherry Frost Silk Finish Lipstick is available now at drugstores or the old packaged version can be purchased at drugstore.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. • Lulle

I have it and love it in the old packaging. Do you think the formula changed?

  • Danadoo

I have not been particularly pleased with wnw lately, but i WILL step up to the one dollar lipstick challange. Haha, watch out walgreens, my sticky little paws will be all over these tomorrow night…be ready!

    • Isabella Muse

me neither!!!!!!!!!!!!! but these are def nice if you try Dana let me know what you think!

  • Rachel

Are these the ones that were in the silver tubes? I bought a ton of them because the colors were gorgeous and they got great reviews, but it turns out I’m allergic to them!! BOO!! They’re SO pretty, it’s so disappointing to not be able to wear them! I have a lot of trouble with lip products (drugstore to high end), so this wasn’t a huge surprise, but I’m jealous of all y’all who are getting such a great product for a great price!

    • Isabella Muse

they are but now they are in black tubes (they changed the packaging) I’m so sorry to hear you had a bad reaction to them Rachel 🙁

  • Brooke Jones

This is beautiful on you! I completely agree with you on this lipstick. I bought several of these along with several shades of the long lasting formula…..great stuff!

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks Brooke! 🙂 really they are pretty darn nice for a buck!

  • lacy

$1 lippies that rock?! sign me up! I’ll take one in every shade please.. and mac dupes.. hell yeah!

    WnW ftw!

  • Majick

Wow, that is really pretty! I may have to take this $1 lippie challenge. I read Rachel’s post and hope that I’m not allergic either. I found out I cannot wear Maybelline Vivids and the colors are really gorgeous but the smell and taste make me cough? weird.

I will say #900 Hot Plum is an exact dupe for MAC Show Orchid. (in case you were needin’ to know LOL)

I bought three shades about two months ago in the new packaging and like you was impressed, for the price bought they are defiantly worth checking out.

(To self): I don’t need another red lipstick. I have a million red lipsticks. I’m sure I have a dupe of this somewhere. I don’t need another red lipstick.

    Wait… It’s 99?

    *buys another red lipstick*

  • Genevieve

With $1 lipsticks you can’t go wrong – really the colour looks great on you Isabella.

  • Carolyn

thanks for the recommendation. Our local store (Fred Meyers if anyone is near one) is having a BOGO 50% off so I picked up the cherry color for .99 and a garnet for .50! What a deal!

I like it – just a wee bit drying but none of that lipsticky- smell or taste. I may add a bit of gloss prior to putting it on next time but so far, I agree, really great lipstick and the price, yahoo!

    • Carolyn

PS – ITA with your lipstick container comment! I already dinged mine!

And up, color is nice on you. 🙂

  • Bunny

I just got some of them 2 days ago. My local walgreens had a sale on them. 3 for $2, so I got 9 of them. I was surprised by them. I really thought they were going to be cheap. You know no pigmentation or plastic smell. But no, they are amazing. Some just have a nice sheer color while others are pigmented. They are so comfortable and hydrating on the lips. But you know I guess it’s not that surprising, wet n wild always has such great products.

  • Sarah

The color looks gorgeous on you!! I’ve only tried Wet n Wild’s matte, long lasting lipsticks and I’m partial to it. I’ll have to give this one a go.

You did a recent post on Hard Candy’s plumping lipsticks. But that one is $5 compared to this one which is only a dollar! Do you think Hard Candy’s has a distinct advantage (other than packaging) to warrant such a big difference in price? I am not too picky with lipsticks, as I don’t wear one on a daily basis, but have been wanting some fun colors for spring and summer. Just wanted to know what the major advantages are for Hard Candy, if any.

    Many thanks!

  • Zovesta

I adore this lipstick, and pretty much every single new shade they’ve come out with lately! The frosts are just to die for. @_@ Red frost looks surprisingly good, and super cute on you.

    • Isabella Muse

they did a great job with this revamp! 🙂 thank YOU Zovesta!

  • Shellers

I find this to be a dupe of MAC Hollywood Red, which was available only at the Hollywood and Highland MAC store when it first opened. I still have my tube from all those years ago, but now I have Cherry Frost too!
