Coachella 2015 Beauty Survival Guide

Attending Coachella 2015? Lucky you! Or maybe not so lucky (it can be both rewarding, scary, and HOT)! Coachella is something you should experience once in your life (or maybe twenty times in your life time if you can get pass the first time that is!) with an incredible round up of some of the most amazing music you’ll ever have the pleasure of hearing.

However, to survive it you’ll need a round up of beauty essentials to help get you through the unbearable heat while looking your prettiest.

The best advice you’re ever going to get when it comes to attending Coachella or any music festival is PACK FREAKING LIGHT! Don’t try and carry the entire planet in your messenger bag because it just isn’t going to work. Try to stick to the basics with a selection of products you can multitask with.

Use your fingers.
I know, it sounds gross! It is gross! I dislike using makeup products that require finger application when I’m traveling but you simply don’t have the luxury of packing hundreds of brushes and tools when you’re heading to a music festival. Blushes like Sephora Double Contouring Cream Blush in Coral Flush is a perfect creamy consistency that adds a gorgeous golden peach onto your cheeks without a ton of effort for application! Seriously, it is one of my favorite blushes and so easy to blend out and apply with my fingers! This is the perfect shade for a kiss of radiance that gives even the most “I’ve spent the entire night listening to great music” face a burst of fresh color that brightens up your entire face.

Multitask, multitask, multitask!
Seriously, any beauty product you can multitask with is a good beauty product. It’s not like you’re going to have access to a great showering system at a music festival nor are you going to be standing at a sink trying to exfoliate your dull, dry skin! If you’re at Coachella likely the desert heat is soaking up the moisture and vitality from your skin so grab yourself some exfoliating facial wipes! Not only will these remove your makeup but they double up to gently exfoliate your complexion and allow you to get your glow back! Try Sephora’s Express Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes as they have two sides! One side removes your makeup and the other gently exfoliates your skin!

Please don’t forget the essentials!
There are too many times when I am packing and I bring some elaborate items but I forget the essentials. What the hell am I thinking? Try not to forget the essentials especially when attending any music event. Tissues! Bring them! Seriously, chances are you’re going to run into a lot of icky bathroom situations that require tissues so stock up and keep them tucked in your bag! Antibac gel! Again, plenty of gross situations at events like this and not enough running water so grab yourself some antibacterial gel! Bath & Body Works has cool little Pocketbac clip ons that you can easily snap on your bag without adding a bunch of extra weight. Hair ties, bobby pins, anything to keep your hair in shape! Sephora has a cute the Art of Braid Hair Kit which has step by step instructions for creating trendy braid looks and the tools to help you achieve them like ribbons, clear hair elastics, and more. Not only is the kit perfect for creating boho chic looks but it also doubles up as a set of essential items for keeping your hair looking great.

Temporarily awesome is ok!
Music festivals are not only to hear great music but also to look am zing and be seen. Maybe you want to try something new for your look while out and about but you aren’t keen dangerously changing yourself. Perhaps you have this urge to dye your hair a crazy shade. Don’t. You have to go work on Monday! But it’s ok to look for temporary solutions to spice up your looks for the big event! Try out some hair chalk! You can get a temporary shade of gorgeous in your hair without the long term commitment as it’ll wash away easily! Try out Sephora’s Pastel Hair Chalk which is on sale for $7.

Don’t stress it!
Don’t forget to have fun! Try not to stress and enjoy the good time. Try to keep your look simple! A little blush, mascara, and a slick of a bright lipstick is perfect for rocking out with!

If you are attending Coachella this year count me jealous!

I hope you’ll share some of your Coachella 2015 Beauty Survival picks or any beauty essentials for concerts and events like Coachella!

Do you pack light when attending event like this?

Or do you tend to get a little too crazy?

Do share!

Don’t forget to visit Sephora’s on site venue at the festival as there will be a Sephora Collection Beauty Studio that has air conditioning, phone charging, and beauty stations offering free makeup services!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I have been going to music festivals for years. Maybelline color tattoos are the next thing ever at a fest. No primer, no brushes, and you can still look amazing. Also, micellar water. Best way to refresh Yourself and take makeup off.

(sigh) I see pics of all these beautiful celebrities at Coachella, with perfect beachy wavy hair, glowing skin, artfully applied nude makeup, and the trendiest looking 60’s clothes and flower-child accessories. I bet it took a team of stylists HOURS to make them look like that, and that team is probably following them around the festival touching up their hair and makeup, so it doesn’t wilt or melt in the sun. The rest of us are going to have make do with the essentials.
