L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches
L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick is one of several new lipsticks that launched in the L’Oreal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds Lipstick Collection.
As you know L’Oreal curated a collection of red lipsticks in this release inspired by present and pass celebrity and model ambassadors. Doutzen’s Red is inspired by Dutch model and actress Doutzen Kroes. Technically, like Eva’s Red, Doutzen’s Red isn’t QUITE red but more orange. It didn’t surprise me though as Doutzen’s blonde hair and sunny skin plus her crystal blue eyes allows her to get away with such a fun, vibrant shade of color.
Take a look!
L’Oreal calls Doutzen’s Red a fiery red and I can see some of that. This is a red with a very strong orange undertone. On my lips it pulls very much orange and it isn’t easy to detect any signs of red in the color. It’s a shade that be played around with easily so it’ll work great on a warmer skin tone on a girl or guy with brown eyes and hair but still also looks striking on someone with lighter blue eyes and blonde hair. It’s quite a versatile color and screams Summer which is in fact with Doutzen’s skin tone, hair, and eyes would be classified as for me as she’s very much a “Summer” girl.
It’s a funny thing about this new L’Oreal Collection Private Lipstick range as I’m finding that I really like the formula a lot more than I did the nude lipstick shades from the Collection Privee that launched last Spring! Not only are the colors more intense but they apply more easily and have a far superior texture and formulation.

L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick has major downfall, the taste and flavor! I’m not keen on L’Oreal’s play-doh flavor! Yak! Aside from this the color wears strongly for a good five hours with opaque color coverage on a single pass. The creamy consistency strikes the perfect balance in a satiny matte finish that isn’t drying in the least and looks smooth and even with the first application and a few hours after! The formula is by no means hydrating but it isn’t drying either and doesn’t migrate of feather on my drier lips through the wear. It does stain lips a kinda cheese doodle orange after it wears away haha…so beware!
This comes housed in special packagingthat has Doutzen’s autograph in gold on the rubber barrel of the lipstick. I do dislike the rubberized packaging as it’s quite like NARS in this aspect and ends up collecting dirt and grime easily.
All in all the L’Oreal Collection Exclusive Lipsticks are proving a joy! I’m really loving these!
L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick isn’t exactly red but it’s still a gorgeous Summer-y shade with an excellent formula if you can get pass the smell and flavor!
