L’Oreal Liya’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches
L’Oreal Liya’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick is one of several new matte red lipsticks that L’Oreal launched in a new collection titled Collection Private Pure Reds for Spring/Summer 2015. Liya’s Red is inspired by Liya Kebede who is a L’Oreal ambassador.
Out of all the reds in this collection, Liya’s shade is the most traditional shade of red and one of the most wearable ones that should look great on a wide array of skin tones, hair, and eye colors.

At first glance I felt like Liya’s Red had a blueish undertone but it actually has more pink to it. It’s a very classic, traditional red that’s vibrant yet very, very wearable. Liya’s color is a little less creamier and a little thinner compared to others in this collection and most reminds me of the consistency of Frieda’s Red. It does drag a little during application but once in place has a very smooth, even finish on my drier lips with a satiny matte finish. L’Oreal says these are matte in finish but I feel like they are a combination of a matte and a satin as they have a very velvety feel that wears quite comfortably without feeling dry but not hydrating either. This shade wears for around five hours without smearing, flaking, feathering, or migrating. It does leave a stain behind as it wears down. Unfortunately, it does have that unusual play-doh taste and fragrance that all L’Oreal lipsticks sport. I don’t love the taste but since the pigmentation and formula is so fabulous on these lipsticks I choose to ignore it and it does disappear quickly enough!
As with all the lipsticks in this collection this comes housed in a rubberized black barrel with gold accents and Liya’s autograph gracing the front. The packaging is nice, very high end looking and feeling but rather a pain as it does collection grime and dirt easily as it has that NARS feel to it.
All in all L’Oreal Liya’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick is yet another fantastic shade from the Collection Private Pure Reds Lipstick launch. L’Oreal did a fabulous job with lipsticks and there seems to be a red for just about every skin tone, eye, and hair color so it should prove easy finding the perfect red for yourself.
