About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hello again my darling Miss Muse!
Very quickly-what are your thoughts on the often loved,cult-followinged MAC Sheertone Shimmer Dollymix ?I just got mine yesterday (rebuilding my entire makeup wardrobe after a theft on the NY subway left me literally makeup-less,and I mean NOTHING LEFT…I am freaking out). It’s scary in the pan,but goes on sheer and slightly shimmery.I’m not sure if I love it or hate it.Haven’t checked your archives,so you may have covered it,but I’m not sure…I am fairly pale, long almost black hair, green eyes…I was trying to go for a peachy color in the creamblend type, but the enthusiasm of the salesgirl sold me that Dollymix would be “perfect for my skin in the summer,or even year round!”…I’m not sure.Help! Any thoughts?
PS-This product you covered sounds magical and I want it,but my financial situation is slightly comical atm.I allowed myself a MAC blush because I was feeling sad about my recent makeup theft-ALL MY MAKEUP,MUSE!-and because blush (and eyeshadow) are my makeup weaknesses.I’ll be accepting donations if you have any makeup you no longer love lol..jk.Kinda.You rock,as usual. xx. : )

I love the idea of brightening my skin tone while also controlling oil. And I am liking the SPF.

I’m glad you posted on this. I ran by a Mac counter to replace my haggard #208 brush yesterday and stopped dead in my tracks at this. I had to make myself move because I am for some reason intriqued by these products that promise to make me look pretty on the outside whilst improving my skin so one day I can walk confidently sans makeup completely. I seem to have little luck with these products though. The Chanel CC cream (it may be BB..who knows) is a dream for my dry skin. But,the pink undertone is all wrong for my medium, yellow undertone.I almot bought is at $55 thinking I could make it work. The SA actually talked me out of it,lol. No joke. They are supposedly to release an additional shade in the sometime future. it’s funny how you mentioned all the CC,DD,… The sales rep actually mentioned I look into Estee Lauder’s new EE cream..I am just getting confused. It sounds like this Mac C may not ne for me as I need a moisturizing one if you have any suggestions,I would love to hear! Loving your blog!:D
