Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer ($28) is a new face primer that launched with the Stila Summer 2015 Collection.

Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer reminds me of Skin Food Facial Ice Vita Cooling Stick (which happens to be cheaper)! The formulas are almost identical but obviously Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer is a little easier to get here in the US.

Let’s take a look!

Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer

I like Stila’s Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer a lot!

Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer comes in chubby swivel up barrel that houses .67 oz of product. The actual stick is a translucent minty blue shade with a cool refreshing fragrance that’s very pleasant but could prove very irritating for sensitive users.

This formula was created to smooth, hydrate, and reduces pores and redness. I don’t know about redness but it’ll likely do very little for visible pores. I have smaller pores around my nose I like to conceal and this really does nothing for them. I can imagine larger, visible pores on my face if I had them wouldn’t benefit from this formula. It is however, an incredible formula for those with drier skin!

It provides super hydration to skin so foundation and concealer (you can use it under your eyes too!) will apply easier and smoother. On first swipe it has a super cool, refreshing feel and leaves skin slick and dewy. As it absorb it leaves skin lightly hydrated and prepped for makeup. I wouldn’t recommend it for oily skin but for drier skin it’s a life saver. It’s a funny release for Summer though as yes it is cooling but the moisture it provides is more suitable for the cooler weather versus the warmer one!

The formula quite reminds me of my beloved Lorac DuWop Flight Stick but on a much more moisturizing level. This is something I’d totally pack in my makeup bag and use after being on a plane for a few hours. You can just swipe it on and pat it onto your face for instant moisture. It also provides nice continuous hydration as my face feels smooth and soft for several hours after application.

Do I like it? Yes! I actually love it! I just wish it was a little cheaper because as I said the formula is quite comparable to Skin Food’s version which is considerably cheaper.

Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer is available now at stilacosmetics.com and should be available shortly at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much.
