Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Creme Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Creme ($24) arrive in four shades for Summer 2015 and are now available as a permanent part of Tarte’s Lipsurgence Collection. You might recall Lipsurgence Lip Cremes were exclusive to QVC for a little bit and also made an appearance in the QVC Tarte Bow & Go Today’s Special Value two years ago.

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Cremes

I love that these are now permanently available from Tarte. One minor issue, can they please be permanent? As they truly are one of my favorite Lipsurgence formulations and finishes!

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Creme

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Pencils have been my gateway drug into the world of chubby lip pencils. I have a mild obsession with lip pencils and most of that obsession started with Tarte’s formula. Tarte was one of the first brands to do chubby tinted lip pencils and although the market is saturated with them at the moment I still love and use Tarte’s formula most often than not.

Lipsurgence have made the rounds and are formulated in any number of ways at the moment! From matte to sheer and now creamy too. I’d like the Lip Creme formula to the Matte Lip Tints in the Lipsurgence range but with a far creamier consistency and a much more pigmented formula that sets to a smooth satin finish that’s very creamy and slightly hydrating. I think the Lip Creme formula proves the heaviest and most pigmented in the Lipsurgence family but still applies and wears beautifully. Yes, they do indeed have the customary peppermint taste and flavor so if you’re sensitive to beware.

Lipsurgence are known for being sheerer however, the matte range are fairly pigmented. However, if you’ve always desired something creamier with opaque pigmentation you should adore the Lipsurgence Lip Creme formula. These glide on with a super soft, creamy texture that wears for hours with gorgeous, intense color that doesn’t fade easily and when it does leaves a hint of a stain behind. The texture is just beautiful and I can’t rave it enough!

It’s sorta an odd release for me as if I had to choose a season I’d likely feel like these were best suited for Fall or Winter versus Summer but I can’t complain I’m just happy to have new shades to choose from and ones that will be available at Sephora and Ulta from now on versus QVC only. No worries if you have the shades from the Bow & Go Set as these shades are brand new and not repromoted.

All in all if you love creamy, pigmented lip products you’re sure to adore Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Cremes if you haven’t yet tried them!

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Creme are available now at Sephora, Sephora.com, tartecosmetics.com, Ulta, and Ulta.com.

I love Illusion. That in particular does seem like it’d almost be better for cooler weather, but I’d wear that any time.

I don’t use chubby pencils too often but I do like the Tarte LipSurgence pencils. I have a feeling I may really like these. I need to swatch them soon

  • devon

they better be available after may because of my ‘no buy’!!!!!!!

I’m obsessed with these right now! I picked up Illusion and it’s such a pretty shade. I had no interest in Serene until I saw it on you – it’s gorgeous and you make it look amazing! I may NEED it!
You can also get two other lip cremes (not in this set) two other ways – “Harmony” is a full sized in Nude Total Lip Service Kit. (Maybe Utla only?) It’s also $24 and you get a deluxe mini lip liner and lip gloss to match, basically for free. And, the Tartlette 101 Ulta limited edition kit has a deluxe mini of “Divine” a pretty mauve nude.
Like I said, I am obsessed!

Yay! thanks for filling me in Diane! I have four already from the Tarte Bow and Go Set but I love this formula so I’m all in for more ;-D Aw thanks! Serene is a really nice shade 😀

Illusion looks beautiful on you! <3 But it's true, I definitely don't associate wine colours with Spring or Summer.

I’m not usually into lip chubby pencils, but I bought a few of these. I really like them. They look, feel and smell soooo good.

Enchanted was in my QVC lipstick sampler and I love it. It does go on super smooth and creamy.

All the ones you tried on…gorgeous!

  • Rhea

Hallo, which one do you think is better, Lip Creme or the Lip Tint version? but i do prefer the one that isn’t sticky

  • JT

Still don’t know why the swatches that are on your arm don’t indicate what color they are.
I thought this was the point?

    • Isabella Muse

read the caption below the photo and you’ll see each shade name. That’s the point of a caption. hope this helps!
