Colourpop Topanga Lippie Stix Review & Swatches

Colourpop Topanga

Colourpop Topanga Lippie Stix, yes, named after the Boy Meets World character, is one of several new Colourpop Lippie Stix shades that launched with the Colorpop Summer 2015 Collection. I wasn’t a follower of Boy Meets World but I know Girl Meets World was met with great excitement by the fandom. One thing I do know the name Topanga just begged to be made into a lipstick or a blush shade dontcha agree?

Topanga, for some reason it just screams Summer to me.

Let’s take a peek at this shade!

Colourpop Lippie Stix are a cheap as chips twist up ($5 bucks yo!) lipstick from Colourpop that’s available in a range of shades and finishes (Topanga is a satin finish!). These have a slanted tip that fits the contour of lips quite nicely for easy application and no sharpener is required for these as they twist up easily!

I mentioned it before and I’ll mentioned it again, Colourpop does so go the extra mile with attention to packaging details. Honestly, you wouldn’t think these were $5 as they look like an $18 lipstick you purchased at Sephora.

Unfortunately, Lippie Stix aren’t a formula that works for me but I like the shades so much that I end up purchasing them anyway. These have a super creamy application with excellent pigmentation that builds easily. The formula wears comfortably but I feel like they accentuate my drier lips and the color seems to fall into my natural lip lines. I get a smoother finish if I run my finger across my lips after application but I shouldn’t have to you know? They do not migrate, feather, or flake through the wear and have absolutely no fragrance or flavor. The wear is pretty strong to at nearly six hours.

Topanga is a mid-tone coral with a little duskiness to it. It’s very pretty but I kinda wish they went with something like golden coral! That’s what I envision Topanga being like in a color 🙂

For five bucks you can’t bit the Colourpop Lippie Stix range! Great wear, creamy, terrific pigmentation! But be careful if you have drier lips as you’ll need to prep well to get the best possible finish from these.

Ugh, so much yes, I own this shade and I love it. I agree, it does tug very slightly on me, and settle into my lip lines… but I just don’t even care. u_u

I’m glad I’m not alone as I hear a lot of raving reviews but no one mentioned that it settles into lip lines!

I have to admit, I’m always hesitant to buy these as I have SO MANY liplines when I’m not smiling. It’s… super aggravating. However, I think I may go for some of the glossier shades (especially the SUPER bright ones!) because you’re so right… for five bucks how can I go wrong???

I think the lippies smell quite vanilla-y actually. The glossy shades definitely need prior prep but the matte ones I’ve used are pretty moisturizing and don’t reveal the flakes.

my nose must be off I don’t really get a fragrance from them! I gotta re-sniff 😀

Cute on you! I’m surprised you think they have no fragrance or flavor. The ones I have are distinctly yummy vanilla similar to MAC lipsticks.

I’m so confused lol! I don’t get the flavor at all!? Am I doing something wrong 🙂

What I’ve found with the Colourpop lippies is, the different finishes are not created equal when it comes to settling into lines. Satins are the worst for some reason… the cream finish isn’t as bad, nor is the glossy finish (I don’t usually like matte lipstick, so I haven’t tried any of those yet. But I hear they settle into lines the least). I have to use a thick balm under any of the satins I own, or they add a few years to my already not-young-anymore lips… which I do, willingly, because so many of the shades are so gorgeous! Topanga looks great on everyone I’ve seen it on so far. Including you, and including me 😀

ya know, i don’t think I yet tried the glossy yet! I’m hopeful that formula works best for me. I don’t mind either! They wear long, have a lovely creamy texture, and they colors are gorgeous! I’m willing to work with that hehehe 😀 Thank YOU! I wish I could see it on YOU Stacy 🙂

I am addicted to the Colourpop lippies! I have 5 already ( Leather, Grind, Lady, Creature, Dahlia) including the matching lipliners and love them all!! The formula and pigmentation is incredible, they easily match or beat lippies that cost 2-7x more!

I love colourpop lippies but this one was the first one that gave me an allergic reaction. It instantly burns when I put it on. Such a shame because the colour is gorgeous! Do you recommend any dupes?

I’m so surprised this comes off more pink on you, I’ve seen different swatches of this and on some people this even looks orange. Now I’m quite confused tbh, I have yellow undertones and I can’t seem to figure out how the color will appear on me.
