Combat Oily Summer Skin with Lush Imperialis and Lush Eau Roma Water

Lush Imperialis Lush Eau Roma

So Summer seems to be on the way finally and I’ll have to combat oily Summer skin soon! Well actually, I already am! I’m typically pretty dry in the Winter but Summer arrives and suddenly my forehead is oily, my cheeks are kinda dry, yet my nose and chin are producing a ton of oil. It’s a combination of crazy. But mostly, I’m pretty shiny.

I do blame the weather! My skin hits warm weather and suddenly it starts producing a lot more oily but also I blame my SPF at times. I feel quite shiny sometimes after applying my sunscreen! Whatever it is, I know my skin is far from dry in the Summer!

How do I combat oily Summer skin? By switching up my skincare routine!

If you’re struggling with mildly oily skin or combination skin Lush Imperialis Moisturizer and Lush Eau Roma Water is the perfect power couple to beat your Summer oily skin issues!

So typically it’s all about slathering a heavy moisturizer on my skin in the Winter but in the Summer I like lighter. Typically, if possible, I try to skip out on moisturizer and rely on my SPF for moisture but the problem is that many of my SPFs from Japan contain a good deal of alcohol and at first they feel light, refreshing, and mildly hydrating but when my skin hits the air conditioner suddenly I feel a little tight and dry. When I head outside suddenly I’m oily. It’s such a double ended sword.

So every year around this time I switch up my skincare and start injecting a lot more Lush Imperialis Moisturizer and Lush Eau Roma Water into my routine! Eau Roma is actually formulated for drier skin and contains ingredients to moisturize skin but for me it acts more like a toner. It really does an excellent job reducing oiliness and prepping skin for moisturizer and makeup. It isn’t overly hydrating and provides a very light moisture to skin but for the most part as I said it does an incredible job curbing oil.

Lush Imperialis

After a misting with of Eau Roma Water and my skin is dry I follow up with Imperialis. This is the perfect moisturizer for me since I use my own SPF. This doesn’t contain any ingredients that will interfere with the SPF I’m wearing over it and it also does an incredible job sucking up extra moisture and leaving my skin soft yet not oily or shiny. It’s very, very lightweight and does an excellent job curbing oil and keeping my skin from looking or feeling shiny!

If you’re busy trying to decide the best way to combat oily skin this season and wondering what skincare would work best to control mild oily issues I’d highly suggest checking out this dynamic duo! Used together you’ll feel a heck of a lot oily and look a lot less shiny!

You sold me. I’m getting these products over the weekend and I’ll let you know how they work on my super oily (read shiny) yet fundamentally dehydrated skin!

My skin definitely gets oilier in the summer, too. Lush has really nice toners, although I haven’t used one in awhile.
