Yeondukong Easy Brightening Stick6

Memebox recently launched the Yeondukong Easy Brightening Stick as well as Yeondukong Blush Sticks and Contouring ones. This collection of face sticks is actually a collaborated effort between Yeondukong and Memebox! Yeondukong is a beauty guru from Korea (She looks all of 16 years old! Lucky girl!) who does youTube videos.

Since I’m a concealer junkie of course, I had to grab the Yeondukong Easy Brightening Stick ($12) first! This is actually an excellent contouring tool for use under the wells of your eyes and towards your upper cheek bones as it’ll brighten up the area completely. Some gurus have done the same using products like Benefit Lemonaid which I’ve always thought was a damn nifty trick (never tried it myself!)

Let’s take a look at this little brightening stick!

Yeondukong Easy Brightening Stick is a chubby retractable stick that can be used in a number of different ways.

You can apply it directly under your eyes to brighten the area up and diffuse dark circles (it’s quite yellow so yellow counteracts darkness a good deal!), you an also use it towards your upper cheek bones and below the wells of your eyes to brighten up and contour the area, or even down the bridge of your nose and around your lips to contour and add brightness to these areas.

The formula is pigmented but isn’t a one stop shop concealer. It’s a little pasty and chalky so you might want to use it under your concealer for the best finish if your skin tone is a bit tanned as this is a shade that might work best on pale, fair, or medium fair skin tones. It does provide dramatic visible brightening under eyes! It kinda adds an extra eight hours of sleep under eyes when you’re only working on five. But as I said it can be a little tricky to work with as too much can make you look pasty as all hell! I tend to use a brush with it instead of swiping under my eyes from the tube as the brush sheers out the product considerably.

I’m not sold on the formula. It is creamy but it also feels kinda plastic-y and quite dry. Sure, this is a good texture for oily lids but those of us that are drier might feel the need to tug a bit during blending. I also noticed if I didn’t blend well it tended to crease and cake into my finer lines.

I like this a lot but…it has quirks that aren’t always forgivable. It’s also a product I really have to baby during application otherwise I’ll walk out of the house looking scary. It isn’t your normal run of the mill swipe and go concealer. This one needs a little TLC during application! But if you have the patience you can get fairly good brightening results with this chubby little brightening stick!

I actually like it. I blend it with a buffing brush or beauty blender on the center of my face, but with a light hand. I like it conjunction with their highlighting stick and their contouring stick a lot more though. Their products are really interesting. I recently hauled their cream shadows, and while they have a quirky application, but great sheer or opaque payoff in the end.

I like it too 🙂 It can easily be over done though so a light touch is def a good idea 😉 I haven’t tried their cream shadows yet but I did purchase a few!

I’m thinking about getting a Memebox as a birthday present to myself. It would be my first one, I have tried some Korean cosmetics before, though. Which one would you recommend that’s available right now? I’d like a kind of mix of products.
