Skincare I Purchase Over and Over and Over Again!

best skincare

I tend to over rotate my skincare. I used to be a diehard Lush Skincare kinda girl and wouldn’t use much of anything else. Philosophy was also one my top favorite skincare brands (still is actually!). I think my blog is part of the reason my skincare is often rotating as I’m constantly trying new things but I also think I’m just slightly obsessed with finding my holy grail eye cream or the greatest moisturizer every (even though I’m already using something that works incredibly well).

But there are skincare items I purchase over and over and over again! These are the products I use often! The products I’d want with me if I got stranded on a tropical island!

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid (Review)
This liquid essence is the first step in my nightly and daily skincare routine. A few drops of this applied directly on my face instantly provides intense hydration and allows my skin to retain moisture.

Philosophy Miracle Worker Dark Spot
(Review)
This appears to be discontinued because everywhere I look it is discounted. It’s only of the VERY few dark spot treatments that actually worked great for me! Not only does it treat dark spots but brightened up my entire complexion!

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream
I’ve tried A LOT of different eye creams but I come back to Repairwear Laser Focus again and again and again. I feel like it subtle treats the finer lines I have under my eyes so they appear more plumped plus it adds a nice bit of moisture. It’s my ideal AM eye cream treatment and I’ll continue to purchase it so long as Clinique continues to make it!

Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist (Review)
This little gem from Japan is my FAVORITE facial mist. It’s a collagen infused mist with a thicker essence-like texture that leaves skin super moist and hydrated. Truly a must have for the dry skin girls and guys!

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic & Retinol
This here serum is part of night time routine and absolutely something I’ll buy over and over again. It brightens up my entire complexion, eases dullness, and makes my skin look incredibly lively!

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Hydra-Pure Intense Moisture Cream
This is a staple in my nightly routine. It only only provides great moisture overnight but my duller skin looks so much more brighter and less lackluster the morning after use!

Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Retinoid Pads and Solution
Philosophy’s Miracle Worker pads are truly some of the greatest skincare I’ve had the pleasure of using. I’m hoping with long term use they’ll keep my skin looking younger but as of now I use them daily because I love how smooth my skin looks and how much brighter my complexion is courtesy these little pads. They gently exfoliate my skin overnight and keep my duller skin looking fabulous. So if you ever looked at one of my photos and felt my skin was looking great you can blame it on these little pads!

Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion
Of course, like any other dry skin person I want as much moisture as possible but I also want to retain that moisture and that’s where this little Japanese essence comes into place. Not only does it add moisture but it makes plumps skin and aids it in retaining moisture too! It’s a little miracle and a product I can’t do without!

What are some skincare products you simply can’t do without?

Let’s see…. I have to have the Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery cleanser – altho I understand it’s been reformulated, and might not be all that it was. BOO. I also need to have the Earth Science ADE cleanser – 2nd best to the PC. I am a total h00r with my moisturizing sunscreen, so no real HG/gottahaves there. I have rebought the PTR 10% Moisturizing glycolic hydrating gel – that stuff rocks! I also like/need the Dr. Jart Ceramindin fluid -it’s wonderful under *any* moisturizer! I think I have concluded that the Koh Gen Do spa water is also a must have, and when I’m done with the simple/lancome blend I have made, I will use the KGD exclusively….

Oh, and I do belive that the Tarte eye cream is my daytime gottahave, and the Shiseido benefiance eye cream is my nighttime gottahave.

Great poll Muse – Will be very interested to read what others gottahave!

I’m totally new to the whole skincare stuff so thank you for recommending these products! definitely will check these out esp that Clinique eye cream 😀

my pleasure! Just keep in mind a lot are best for drier skin hopefully that’s your skin type 🙂

i hafta hafta hafta use either tarte maracuja oil or josie maran argan oil as a nighttime moisturizer…it’s the only thing that controls my oily skin–go figure! if i don’t use it, i get oily. if i do, i stay satin smooth. out of everything i have tried, that’s really my only HG item!

I’m loving this post, as a dry skinned person! I use the US version of the Hada Labo and love it. I’m super curious about the Dr. Jart Ceramidin because I love both ceramides and licorice extract – also a pretty large bottle for the price!

Hey Muse! By the way, Daisy sends kitty kisses & hugs. We are celebrating our second anniversary today; it was two years ago I got her as a 12-week old kitten. Here are some products I keep getting over & over: La Mer moisturizing soft cream. It’s outrageously expensive and I use it sparingly; I wish I could slather it on every day. Badger lip balm to prep my lips. Dr. Perricone citrus cleanser. Lush mint julips lip scrub. Lush eau roma facial mist — I find it incredibly hydrating. Also, I just bought the super size bottle of Josie Maran’s light argan oil off of QVC last night. I’ve never tried it before, but it was such a good deal I couldn’t resist. The next thing I need to find is a great eye cream.

    • Isabella Muse

aw xoxo to you both! happy anni! 😀 I like La Mer’s eye cream, stupid expensive but it really works on my puffiness 😀 Thanks for sharing chica!

  • Erika

Dr. Jart Ceramidin serum is so good. I bought it when you first reviewed and I have loved it since.

I have a pretty intense skincare regime at night. I use Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover for my eyes followed by Josie Maran Cleansing Oil to remove the rest of my makeup. Then I go in with Fresh Soy Cleanser on my Olay cleansing brush. THEN I use a facial mask. Every. Night. The mask depends on what my skin needs that day and can range from Fresh Rose Mask to the Philosophy peel. My toner is Pixi Glow Tonic then Pixi Glow Facial Mist. My retinol is by Peter Thomas Roth (so is my eye cream) and then First Aid Beauty Moisturizer.

There’s only one brand-name HG skin care product I must have:

Paula’s Choice Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30

Do I have a backup? I have FOUR backups! I keep them in my fridge. I cannot be without this product. And I do have a ton of other sunscreens, because I buy them like candy, but I always come back to this product because for oily skin like mine, it’s the BOMB! Nothing else honestly comes close.

    • Isabella Muse

yay 😀 I’m testing Paul’s Choice right now myself!

  • diane

Love this post! I feel like I am the only person ever who wasn’t impressed with the dr. gross serum. Rebuys for me include clarisonic deep cleansing brush heads, the proactiv+ system- it’s the only things that truly keep my complexion clear. Then because I struggle with anti-aging too I add stuff to it. I use a mix of pure argan and maracuja oil every night, Philosophy miracle worker eye cream. Also the glam glow mask in the white jar.

      • diane

LOL! I will give it a second chance in a few years. I love telling people my actual age and seeing their faces. I almost was not let in to my nephew’s concert at a bar a few weeks ago because the bouncer thought my ID was a fake -_-

i recently got the trial set of dr jart ceramidin cream & serum and i really like it!
the small size has lasted me awhile too which is good. i might purchase a full size in the future but if they have the mini kit again it’s a much more affordable option for how long it’s lasted me.

i did start using epiduo last february for acne and it has definitely helped change the texture of my skin for the better. so i’ve finally kind of settled on a routine.
not sure i have any holy grail skincare yet but i have repurchased the eclos cleansing oil for makeup removal & cerave hydrating cleanser & moisturizing cream so that’s probably as close as it gets for things that i haven’t had issues with.

i probably could live without my clarisonic now but using it with my epiduo really helps prevent dry flaky bits that it causes sometimes.

Some of the skincare I’ve bought multiple times include: Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing & Makeup Removing Cleanser (I keep one in each bathroom), Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream, Lush Dark Angels, Yes to Cucumbers Makeup Removing wipes (they don’t break me out unlike every kind of remover wipe), Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads (the ONLY kind that takes off eyelash glue).
For moisturizers I’m constantly trying new things because a lot of them break me out. I’ve bought a few more than once: Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion, Murad Oil Free Mattifyer SPF 15 & Alba Botanicals Anti oil Weightless Moisturizer. I’m really digging Josie Maran Light Argan Oil, too.
Eye cream: Clinique All About Eyes Rich & CeraVe Eye Cream.
Masks: Lush Cupcake (LOVE IT!!!) I want Glamglow Supermud but I can’t justify the $70
I can’t find any retinol or anti aging products that don’t break me out. I’m over 30 & need start using some but I can’t seem to find any that don’t cause acne.

    Great post Isabella!
I use mainly Australian products as I can get them easily and more cheaply.
    QV – gentle cleanser
    Natio – mature age serum
Aveeno – gentle scrub for sensitive skins
    Cetaphil – moisture cream
Elizabeth Arden’s Moisture capsules – these work really well on my skin
Clinique – eye cream – got it in a GWP and it is great.

  • Kathryn

Best post for me today – Stila one amazing too !
I am going to give the Philosophy ultimate miracle worker a go – I am a Philosophy fanatic through and through !

  • Ashley

I agree with you muse, the clinque eye cream is great. I’m starting to fall in love with LA MER’s eye concentrate, super hydrating. This is the part that is always so frustrating for a beauty junkie, so many products to test, so little time. And they keep coming out with different formulations, so sometimes its hard to choose because you’re always afraid you’ll fall in love with a different product once you purchase a full size $$ product.

    • Isabella Muse

just when you think you love something, something new comes out! ugh!

    Hi

My favourite skincare items that I go back to again and again are Eve Lom cleanser – just bought a massive 500ml tub from QVC UK that was amazing value compared to the usual 100ml tubs. It’s a really all in one product – removes all make up and the muslin cloth gives a great gentle exfoliator. Love the smell which is rather odd at first.

At the moment I am repeat purchasing Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base – it’s a moisturiser that is also a great base for make up. Smells divine – very citrussy! Also use their hydrating eye cream but keep getting mini samples so not bought for a long time 🙂

I always use L’Oréal Paris Dermo-Expertise Gentle Make-Up Remover to remove my eye make up as I hae spending lots of money to take make up off although am trying Garnier micellar water at the moment…………..not that I need either with Eve Lom cleanser.

MY first foray into high end brands was Clarins and I still purchase their 1-step cleansing waters occasionally – great for travelling. I usually always have a tube of their Beauty Flash Balm and always pick it at bonus time! I do also love their yellow toner for normal/dry skin. Sometimes if winter is harsh I get their multi active day cream which is a pretty good moisturiser. More bodycare than skincare but I use their Tonic (yellow) and Relax (blue) Shower and Bath Concentrates almost all the time and their Smoothing Body Scrub.

There are quite a few loved and lost products that have been discontinued but otherwise would be on my list. Such as YSL temps majeur lotion and YSL hydra feel moisturising lotion.

    • Isabella Muse

I love that cleans too! it smells so amazing Lee-Anne! 😀 thanks for sharing your skincare items!!!

  • jai

I have repurchased the biore charcoal face wash many times. Also , I repurchased this Cetaphil moisturizer… but I have realized that I didn’t like it the first time, don’t like it now. Ugh waste of money

  • Erin

Do the Hada Labo lotion and Dr. Jart liquid do the same job? Which do you think is more important in your skincare routine?

  • Justin

I’m really digging the Dr Dennis cleanser with built in toner (not sure how that works) but I like it and it does a good job without stripping

  • Dana

My skin is ultra sensitive. I use Cerave foaming facial wash and moisturizing cream. My dermatologist is against using the Clarisonic (as it promotes bacteria ) in addition, I can not use Josie Maran argan oil, it makes me break out.
