Too Faced Love Flush Blushes

Too Faced Love Flush Blush or should I say Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush? Is a new six shade permanent selection of blush that Too Faced recently released with their Fall 2015 Collection.

Personally, I feel like blush is a little lacking in the Too Faced world. They have their Full Bloom Powder Blush in a few shades, and also the very popular Sweethearts Blush (which for me is more of a highlighter than a blush), and Full Bloom Cream Blush….ok, so three different types of blush (four if you count the new Too Faced Love Flush Blush) but it just always felt like much of the brand’s emphasis has been placed on eyeshadow palettes and bronzer (they are DAMN proud of their many, many, many, many bronzer formulas, finishes, and textures).

Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16 Hour-Blush

I dunno what it is but I never felt blush was something that Too Faced excelled at or even concentrated on so I am quite happy they launched these new shades of Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush. Not only am I excited about a blush launch but I thought they did up their packaging very cute. Most makeup fan girls and guys are saying the cute heart shaped compacts look like Polly Pocket! And it’s true! They do kinda resemble the toy! They are adorable and it’s one of the appealing aspects of the blush for me as hey, I’m a packaging h0r!

Let’s take a look!

Too Faced Love Flush Blush

Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush ($26) are getting some rave reviews across the board. I purchased four of the six shades from hsn.com as I had a coupon plus HSN had these before anyone else which was a plus. The formula promises a long wear, fade-proof, smudge-proof formula for up to 16 hours of wear. Honestly, if you’re looking for long wearing blush you likely already have it in your stash as the Tarte Amazonian Blushes are the best of the best when it comes to incredibly long wearing. In some ways, you’ll find that the new Too Faced Love Flush Blush looks surprisingly similar to Tarte’s formula but the wear and texture are considerably different.

Too Faced Love Flush Long Lasting Blush

As I mentioned above each blush is housed in a cute little heart shaped compact with a full size mirror. The blushes have a cute bunny, floral imprint which does smudge up and likely will disappear after a few uses. Sadness but cute while it lasted.

I actually thought these would be luminous or glow-y for some reason but I actually find the finish kind of flat. Some of the shades, like Justify My Love, has tiny particles of sparkle but it apply more matte on my cheeks. The finish is satin but it does look kinda matte to me and as I said a bit flat. They are very pigment rich and buttery in texture but they blended out a little patchy on my cheeks. They are fairly powdery but not chalky or dry. I did not get 16 hours of wear from them! At first application they are intense but they lose some of that intensity at the five hour mark. I’d say I can get about eight hours of wear on my drier cheeks if I’m lucky but in most cases it was about seven due to the heat/Summer.

I dunno what it was exactly but I don’t really like these. When I wear blush I like it to brighten up my entire face and give my complexion a boost of a healthy flush! I didn’t feel I got that from this formula. It felt a little flat. Between the shorter wear and the powdery formula I wasn’t entire impressed.

Oh well!

I’ll stick to my beloved Tarte Amazonian Blush and call it a day.

I totally agree with your review, I returned the two blushes I ordered from HSN.

    • Isabella Muse

Audra, thanks as I’m hearing so many raves I felt a little lonely haha! They just aren’t quite what I expected!

Great review. Thanks for pointing out these are kind of flat. I like a sort of luminous finish to my blush so these wouldn’t be my cup of tea. But the packaging is too darn cute I know I would’ve been sucked in to purchase at least one of these. Glad I can safely say they are a pass for me.
I’ll stick with the WNW Fergie blushes that are long wearing, as they truly are long wearing on me.

    • Isabella Muse

That’s me, I like a LITTLE bit of glow. I agree, packaging is stupid cute. Maybe head to store when they launch and swatch, you might love ’em who knows!?

  • Rachel R.

Hmmm…I don’t like the sound of a flat finish. The pigmentation looks great. I might buy one for the packaging and to see whether I like the formula.

Which shade do you think is the best? Thanks.

  • Zovesta

Again, these don’t look like anything special. =/ A shame, because they’re so cute, and have so much potential!!

I just now realized what your blush has been reminding me of all this time: the cute anime character sticker blush. It kept nagging at me in every blush review!

  • Michou

You know it’s funny, I’m more disappointed by how … light they are in shade. I saw them first on Instagram and saw how deep these colors looked but when swatched (on your site and by others) they seem so light in comparison! I think these are a dud for me, sadly.

    • Isabella Muse

They are pretty pigmented, could be my lighting Michou but the formula just fades super fast!

  • Fancie

These blushes are so freaking cute! Sorry you didn’t like them though. I actually think the last shade looks SO pretty on you! I actually want that one and I Will Always Love You. I hope I end up liking the formula though

  • alexa

Oh, I love the one I have! (Love hangover) Wanna send yours to me? haha
But I do like a more matte finish because that allows me to fully control where I’m highlighting. And this blush with liquid highlighter placed just so is GORGEOUS!

But I fully agree on the wear time- not at all what they promised, even on top of their foundation.

    • Isabella Muse

Glad to hear it Alexa 🙂 I’m happy to hear I’m not alone, they fade pretty fast!

  • Steph

Thanks for the reveiw. You saved me some money. I already have so many tarte blushes, I was trying to resist the cute heart shape

  • Lia

This review is excellent because it details some of the make or breaks when it comes to buying products like this (at least for me!) I have drier skin and there is nothing worse than patchiness when you’re trying to blend something out – honestly in the past i’ve looked as though i have hives on my face….
And the lack of luminosity – I like a blush that imparts a healthy and radiant glow. On the plus side the shades are lovely – I think ‘Justify my love’ in particular really suited you!!

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Lia I’m glad you enjoyed the review. Agreed! I look silly when blush applies patchy 😀 aw thanks very much!!!!

  • Mary

You still look great in the photos, even tho’ you don’t like the blushes!

  • Katherine T.

Oh no, these are so adorably cute! I like my blushes long-lasting and luminous (or at least not flat), so this is a no-go for me. Thanks for saving me money

  • Erica K

I am LOVING How Deep Is Your Love Blush. Perfect for my medium complexion. Great blog!
