Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation2

Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation is a dream come true for me because not so long ago in a galaxy not so far away Bourjois Paris released their Mineral Matte Foundation and it was HG for me (holy grail). I’ve tried to recreate it’s brilliance with products like Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation but it just was never as great or amazing as the Bourjois formula.

Fast forward a few years later and here we are with Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation and all seems right with my makeup world again!

Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation3

Well, almost right because if they did a concealer in this formula kinda like my beloved, long gone Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer, that would be sheer perfection! A girl can dream!

Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation is available in four shade selections (I grabbed it in Nude Rose 42 and my skin is a little tan at the moment so this wasn’t quite a perfect match for me) which kinda brings the overall value of the product down. Come on Bourjois! Release more shades because everyone wants to experience the joy of this brilliant little formula.

This is actually more of formula that oily skin users with visible pores would enjoy. I am neither. I have drier skin with no visible pores but I don’t care I still love this stuff and think it rocks. Unlike the original Mineral Matte Foundation this does not come with a brush and I find the formula a TOUCH creamier but aside from that they both perform in a very, very similar way and the textures are very unlike as well.

This has a soft, creamy souffle or mousse-like texture that blends SOOOOoooooooooo easily into skin. It just melts like butter and provides sheer to medium coverage that brightens, smooths, perfects, and creates a gorgeously airbrushed appearance (it photographs like a boss). This almost feels like it has a built in primer so if you do have larger pores it’ll easily conceal them or if your skin is less than smooth it’ll create a very smooth, even surface for makeup to adhere too. If you have drier skin no worries because even though the finish is matte it never clings to drier areas and it provides just enough shine control without giving the appearance of a flat or lackluster finish. It wears in both cooler and warmer weather for a solid six hours with minor fading at hour seven. I wore it last night, in freaking crazy humid weather, and didn’t have an issue in the least.

It’s not a spot on dupe for Bourjois’ original Mineral Matte Foundation but is just as great. If you love mousse foundations and want an airbrushed, flawless finish you’ll adore this formula.

You need it!

Bourjois Mineral Matte was my HG, around 2010 or so. I still have that great kabuki brush that Bourjois sold with it. Thanks for the review, Musey. I’ll hit the Bourjois counter next week and check this out. Btw, do you know if the shades translate to the 50’s shade numbers of Healthy Mix (i.e. is shade 42 in this the same as shade 52 in Healthy Mix etc)? I wish Bourjois would stick to similar shade numbers across their foundations. I was shade 83 in Mineral Matte and 54 in Healthy Mix!

my pleasure renu! Not sure on the shades matching up with Healthy Mix! Don’t quote me but these seem a smidge darker in comparison!

I am a really light porcelain and I am sure that they probably won’t have my shade – but I shall look anyway. Thanks for the great review.

This type of foundation formula is my favorite and has become hard to find. Good to know this worked so well for you! I’m for sure going to check it out. Thank-you. 🙂

Hey Muse, thank you for the review, now Im really intrigued to try this product! would you say this formula compares to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-hr Full Coverage Foundation, and which one do you like best? Love your site!

Hi i recently bought this foundation too! This week i saw that bourjois has also had a new foundation called Air Mat that’s supposed to be able to let your skin beathe. I have purchased that too but have not tried it yet.
