Catrice Ultimate Lip Glow7

Catrice is now available in the US at Ulta and Ulta.com so I decided to venture in and make a purchase! The Catrice Tinted Lip Glow Balm ($5.99) was my first stop because I tend to like quickie lip balms to get a hint of color on my lips after my lipgloss or lipstick has worn away. I like keeping products like Dior Lip Glow in my desk drawer but hey, Lip Glow is $33 and Catrice Tinted Lip Glow Balm a mere $6 so I decided this would be a great place to start my adventure with this German brand.

Let’s take a look!

Catrice Ultimate Lip Glow

Catrice Tinted Lip Glow Balm is a tinted lip balm in a universally flattering shade of pink that enhances the natural shade of your lips. The balm comes housed in a metallic pink barrel with Catrice’s name embossed on the side of the lipstick. It’s quite nicely package for such a budget friendly price!

The balm is a translucent shade of pink with a slightly dense texture at first pass. As it warms up I find the texture has a more melt-y consistency that glides easily onto lips. It’s just initially the it’s a bit harder but after the first use you’ll find it much softer and easier to use. It provides nice light balmy moisture to lips and leaves them tinted a wearable shade of pink with a slightly shiny finish. My lips are fairly pigmented already so this shade enhances my natural color and adds a little more pink to it! It actually swatches completely transparent on my wrist unfortunately but does show up on lips.

I actually like the formula a little more than Dior’s Lip Glow as it provides a little more moisture and a little more pigment. It has no flavor or fragrance and wears for around two hours or so.

I’m one of those people that has a million lipsticks and a million lipglosses but I tend to not reapply any of them once they wear away. My day is typically very busy and I feel like I simply don’t have time for a touch up so I just snag a lip balm and apply it on the go. I particularly like ones that are tinted as I can get a little moisture and a little hint of tint on the go and in most cases I don’t even need a mirror to apply!

Catrice Tinted Lip Glow Balm is a nice little pick up of you enjoy products like Dior Lip Glow or if you’re anything like me and just can’t be arsed to reapply your lipstick and gloss throughout the day. This give lips a nice little hint of tint and a bit of moisture easy and quick! Perfect essential for your desk drawer.

Hi Muse. The color looks nice on you. I have the Elf version and the It cosmetics version on this lipstick. It is nice and gives a pink glow. The Elf one lasts about 3 hours on me.

I haven’t tried the E.L.F. one yet good to know it wears longer 😀 I also have the It Cosmetics one, great stuff! 😀

I haven’t tried their lipsticks…yet. 😉 I did pick up their powder for oily skin. Uhm. It’s the best. Ever. My t-zone is an oil slick and I have tried EVERY powder out there. I do mean I have tried every one. Catrice rocked it and it can’t wait to try tried their other stuff.

I found that Dior Lip Glow was a little too hot pink on my lips when I tried it. It looks great in the photo, but can you speak to how the color of the Catrice product compares to the color of the Dior one?

    • Isabella Muse

This isn’t as hot pink in my experience, it kinda just adds a little enhancement to my own natural color. I have issues with many of these pH lip glow products turning bubble gum pink on my lips but Catrice’s didn’t do that thankfully but you have to take into consideration the color is going to look different on everyone depending how pigmented or paler your lips are 😉

I dunno, these kinds of lip products tend to turn neon pink on my lips

  • Michou

Does this remain a nice, sheer neutral pinky glow …. or does it do that damned PH thing I hate and turn fuscia after time? (Can you tell I’m a bit bitter, even the Dior one makes me crazy because if I reapply, my lips get really bright pink really fast). Because if this doesn’t “change to give me the ‘perfect’ pink”, I might buy every single damned one they have in the store. I’m so serious. 😛

It worked good for me, no bubblegum pink thankfully!!!!! 😀

after reading your review, i immediately google searched the product to see what other bloggers got to say and found that your tube looks different than the tube that other beauty bloggers blogged about.

I went to ulta to search for the product and I think your product is actually called tinted lip glow not ultimate lip glow.

    • Emma

They have two different lip glow products, this one and another one in a silver tube. I own the silver one and the product itself is a transparent pink color (think Maybelline Pop sticks) and turns bright pink when applied. Greetings from Germany.
