Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal3

Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal ($36) is a new multitasking concealer that launched with the Dior Cosmopolite Fall 2015 Makeup Collection. Dior’s new Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal is a little bit of a different formula as it can be used on face, eyes, and lips.

Take a look!

Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal is one of those products where you feel like, “Wow, this is going to save me so much time!” as it works for your face, your eyes, and your lips. And in that same though process, if you’re anything like me, you might think, “But that’s kind of disgusting!” The idea of using this on my lips and proceeding to use it under my eyes or even on my face and vice vera kinda sorta makes me curl my nose up. If you have the change you might want to splurge on two of the concealers! One for use on lips and one for use on your and/or eyes but considering it is a $36 concealer, well, that might not be a great option. So I did in fact use it on both my eyes and lips for testing purposes but it probably isn’t something I’d practice often.

Dior markets this as a technique inspired by backstage makeup. I can understand that as when you’re at a fashion show I’m positive everyone is running all crazy-like and not minding much if their concealer goes from eyes to lips or lips to eyes. I’m just, perhaps, a little anal.

This comes housed in Dior’s typical packaging with a square barrel that resembles their Lip Addict Lipsticks but it does have a milky translucent casing which will set it apart from your lipsticks. It’s available in three shade selections and what appears to be conditioning core surrounded by a creamy concealer. It looks a lot Benefit Fake Up Concealer.

Unfortunately, this is a mediocre concealer for use under eyes. It’s not terribly dry but it dry enough that it drags under my eyes as I apply it. I was surprised by that considering it does have a conditioning core which I had hope would lend a little slickness to the formula. It’s sets matte and feels matte going on so there isn’t a ton of creaminess here and I find the formula very thing with sheerer coverage that does brighten but doesn’t necessarily conceal well due to the lack of pigmentation. It does settle into my finger liners at around the 4th hour of wear and tends to fade by hour six.

As a lip concealer it might prove a little better as it mutes lips well and will provide a good base for pigmented lipsticks or even sheerer ones you wish add more vibrancy too. It’s a bit dry on lips but it doesn’t accentuate drier areas and it lays smoothly on lips and acts as a good base lip products. It does intensify shades and gives them a bolder finish which is a plus.

Do you need it thought is the question?

No.

The formula isn’t a reflection on the price sadly. At $36 I would expect something more hydrating, more pigmented, and longer wearing. If you’re going to splurge on a near $40 concealer you want one that applies easily, looks flawless, and provides all day wear. Unfortunately Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal is not it! The multitasking abilities are a nice extra but I think many will agree applying it on your lips and proceeding to apply on your eyes is a bit nasty.

Sadly, this one goes on my “skip it” list.

As soon as I saw the white core, I was skeptical. Remember those lipsticks with the conditioning core in the middle? They didn’t do much for me. It seems the ingredients in the white core should be pre-mixed into the concealer for best results.
