Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist

You know I’m a completely face mist junkie so of course, as soon as Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist ($38) popped up on Sephora I had to grab it ASAP. Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist is a hydrating mist that nourishes and brightens skin with an alcohol-free formula that contains argan oil and coconut water. It also contains protien rich minerals and konja root spheres to plump and smooth skin as well as lemon and orange extract that act as a gentle exfolilator.

Let’s take a look!

This comes in a very elegant 3.20 oz glass bottle that has rose gold accents and a fine mist pump that can be held down to provide a burst of fine mist. It almost looks like a perfume bottle so if you’re all about pretty packaging I’m sure this will look gorgeous on your vanity.

Oh how I wanted to love this! It just isn’t quite the formula for me though sadly. It has a slew of incredible ingredients that’s for sure and the lack of alcohol and the mineral rick formula make it an ideal pick for skin.

Apparently due to the high content of natural ingredients the color the coconut water will vary which each bottle from clear to cloudy and possibly will even appear golden in color. The bottle may also have small amounts of coconut particles. I looked on the bottom of the box and it won’t expire for a 12 months so obviously the natural ingredients don’t effect the shelf life.

I love facial mists to restore the moisture to my skin that can sometimes be stripped after cleansing. It’s a staple product I use to restore moisture to my skin and I also use it in preparation for skincare as it allows my moisturizer to absorb easily into my skin. I tend to like super hydrating, slick facial mists like Sana Collagen Mist. Unfortunately, I don’t get that super moist feel after using Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist! This is a very, very fine mist spray! I fear I could use the entire bottle and my skin still wouldn’t feel all that moist after use. It brings a very, very light layer of moisture to skin and my drier skin just needs something more sadly. I was curious if it would have a fragrance and it does but I didn’t find it a particular pleasant scent. I’m not really sure what the scent is. It’s kinda a bitter perfume fragrance that wasn’t terribly appealing to my nose.

And finally a little rant at the near $40 price tag for a 3.20 oz bottle ouchie! Many Korean and Japanese face mists I own are fantastically formulated and available in a way larger size for around $10-$12 or less per bottle.

Unfortunately, Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist didn’t quite live up to my expectations. This provides very light, mediocre moisture. On the upside, the ingredient list is impressive but the lack of moisture is a deal breaker.

No like!

Thanks for the review. I was on the fence about this for days and I will look past it. You mentioned you have some Korean and Japanese facial mists you recommend instead. What are your top recommendations?? Is there a post about your favorite facial mists? Thanks for your help.

Hey, Muse! Wow, that’s disappointing to hear. I just started using Josie’s light argan oil and it’s gotten rid of my dry patches, so I’m totally sold on her products. (BTW, I got the huge bottle (6 oz.) on QVC for like $100!) But I’m at that age where I need more moisture, and this hydrating mist is too expensive to not work really well.

Her oil is great Susan 😀 Glad you’re loving it. As far as I’m concerned I can never have too much moisture but this sadly wasn’t cutting it. Very, very light hydration at best!

Oh no! I’ve been eyeing this ever since I saw it on Sephora. So thrilled to see a facial mist that doesn’t have alcohol and added perfume, it’s like finding a unicorn. I’m wondering if it could be better used to refresh makeup throughout the day? Some of the facial mists out there are too wet or hydrating to use over makeup, but this one might work. I think I will give it a try, and if it doesn’t work, Sephora has a good return policy
