Today you’ll be able to indulge in the QVC Today’s Special Value of the ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron that straightens and styles unruly locks (like my wavy hair) with less heat so hair is glossy, shiny, using a lot less heat!

I have a love-hate relationship with my hair. Some days, I’m all “Gee, these wavy curls I got going on are so fabulous” but most days its, “Jeepers, how am I going to tame this mane?” My friends always proclaim their jealousy over how long and wavy my hair is, but personally I find it can be a hassle and many times I’m slapping it up in a bun so I can have it out of my face when I’m work. My hair seriously, has a life all its own and just does whatever it wants!

Many times I’m recommended by my stylist to straighten my hair and he does a great job straightening it for me but unfortunately, it’s not like I can take him home with me, stick him in my spare bedroom, and have him make an appearance in the morning to straighten my hair. I’m hopeless doing it myself, which is why tools like the ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron are helpful to have around!

Here’s a little of my experience with the ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron!

ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron

I own the ghd Classic Styler which set me back $185. During the one day QVC Today’s Special Value you can grab the newer ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron for $179 plus $3 bucks shipping courtesy QVC’s new beauty shipping prices!

The ghd Eclipse Professional Styling Iron uses less heat using tri-zone technology that straightens quickly and easily without turning up the heat, which means less breakage, damage, and dryness for you! And hey, if your hair is stick straight? No problem! Use the iron to add curl too! The unit has a 360 degree swivel cord so it’ll give you ease of movement if you’re using it to curl.

This iron is really lightweight so I never feel my arm getting tired as I work it through my hair! It’s also small enough to store away in a drawer or to take with you when traveling without adding a ton of weight to your bag, plus it has a handy rubber case you slips over the heating panels to keep them together.

When you plug in for the first time it’ll give a one second flash so you’ll know you have power flowing to the iron. It heats up fast! Within moments of turning it (ghd claims it’s a 20 second heat up time, but it felt more like 5 seconds to me!) on it’ll alert you that it is ready to go! Once it reaches the desired temperature of 365 degrees it’ll play a little tune and the lights on the handle so you know it is hot enough for use. Now you can just section out your hair and simply stroke the iron through. I should say I have A LOT of hair and I can get my hair done done in about 15 minutes or so. It goes fast! Below you can see a lock of my curly hair before I use the iron and after four strokes it’s nearly completely straight! It’s pretty impressive as my hair remains straight for a solid ten or so hours after I’ve straightened it! Wahooo wavy hair be gone for a few hours.

Do you blow it dry first? I think my hair is probably pretty similar to yours and I can’t even with the blow dry.

    • Isabella Muse

You really do need to use it when your hair is dry! I’m lucky as I shower in the AM and if I’m going out at night I’ll take time to use the iron when my hair is already dry because I sincerely dislike blowing drying my hair (I don’t really have the time to straighten in the morning anyway so for me if I do wanna go straight I do it in the PM). You can actually damage your hair if you use it on wet hair because the water will boil. This heats up to a high temp! So you wanna make sure your hair is dry when using it in my opinion 🙂

O yea I wouldn’t think you could use a flat iron on wet hair! I just was wondering if you air dried first or blow dry to get that result!

  • TwirlyGirly

Okay, first of all: I’ve seen a picture of you with your hair down and it.is.stunning.

    Now, in regards to:

“I’m recommended by my stylist to straighten my hair and he does a great job straightening it for me but unfortunately, it’s not like I can take him home with me, stick him in my spare bedroom, and have him make an appearance in the morning to straighten my hair” MY question is, WHY NOT? Everyone has their price, ya’ know…..LOL!

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Twirly. I actually really have a love hate relationship with my hair that leans towards being HATE! it’s a PITA to tame 😀 haha! Yeah, you think he’ll go for maybe room and board with the rest in makeup payment?! 😀

    • Karin

I agree with Twirly … you have great hair! I have really fine, thin hair and I dream of having hair like yours *sigh*.

  • Cindy

I’m a “curly hair don’t care” girl! The bigger the curly hair, the happier I am. I wouldn’t think of straightening! Plus, I don’t have the patience. LOL!!
