L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm2

L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm ($16) are a new shea butter rich lip balm with an SPF 25 and a hint of tint that nourish, moisturize, protect, and soften lips!

I’m in love….!

I adore this formula. L’Occitane offers Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm in two shades selections and one transparent formula which is the one I’ll be reviewing for you today.

Take a look!

L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm

Love, love, love, love this formula! And yes, I know your mind well, you’re thinking, “We’ll do you love it more than Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Balm!?” YES! I do. It’s cheaper, it has more sun protection, and it’s way more moisturizing. Of course, I sadly can’t speak for the tint factor as I only tried the transparent/clear formula but I hope to redeem that shortly as I’m going to go ahead and purchase the other two shades so expected updated information on that.

This comes in a round metal barrel that has a twist on and off top. The barrel has some nice weight behind out giving the balm a very elegant feel and look. I love that you can twist the top off and twist it on snug as you won’t come off until you want it off. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tossed a lip balm in my bag and the top comes off and I end up with a mess! This packaging is excellent for tossing into your bag and going without having to worry about this.

L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm4

I wouldn’t say this is a formula you’d love if you’re sensitive to fragrances or flavor in your lip balms. Personally, I love flavored balms so I thought it rather novel it has the same fragrance as L’Occitane’s Pivoine Flora fragrance! It’s a lovely peony scent with a subtle peony perfume flavor. I know, perfume flavors in lip balms don’t sound terribly appealing but I thought this had a rather nice sweet peony flavor!

The best of the balm is definitely the moisture factor. This has a nice soft balm-y consistency that leaves lips feeling very soft. It’s one of those balms you can use under a matte lipstick to add a little moisture prior to application or something you want to tuck into your desk drawer to add a little hydration as the day progresses and your lips might feel a little drier. Add in an SPF 25 for sun protection and you have a very delightful lip balm.

Well done L’Occitane! The Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balm is a delightful and fancy little lip balm that I really enjoyed. I hope they keep these balms as part of their permanent collection and release new shades in the future.

You can them now at L’Occitane Boutiques or pick them up online at usa.loccitane.com.

I adore the Fresh sugar balms. I recently bought the bundle pack from Sephora, so I’m set for awhile. I’m glad to see a cheaper, quality competitor for them. If only I knew this two months ago…

I have two of these (one of the tinted and the transparent one) and I love them. I much prefer them over Fresh. The smell so nice too.

I instantly thought about fresh sugar and I’m so glad you mentioned a comparison. I will pick this up very soon.
