Tarte Lipsurgence Power Pigment Glisten

One of the most exciting factors of Tarte Fall 2015 was the introduction of Tarte Glisten Lipsurgence Power Pigment and Tarte Glisten Cheek Stain because I am such a fool for Tarte’s Glisten Amazonian Clay Blush! It’s such a beautiful shade and the fact that Tarte decided they wanted to create new, permanent products in the same shade for Fall had mo over the moon.

Unfortunately, the Glisten Cheek Stain failed to impressed me and I’m kinda sorta on the face about Glisten Lipsurgence Power Pigment too!

Tarte Glisten Lipsurgence Power Pigment is a new and permanent shade that will be added to the Lipsurgence Power Pigment Collection. I thought it would be shimmery like Glisten blush but it’s actually a cream finish and isn’t quite the same pretty golden peachy pink as the blush. This is deeper shade of dusky peachy pink in the package but it applies more as a nude pink on my lips. It’s a shade that would likely capture my attention if I ran across it on a display but it’s also a shade that applies a bit different than what I’m seeing in the tube so that adds to my disappointment as hey I was already feeling kinda let down it isn’t a shimmery golden pinky peach! I think naming it after Glisten could be a bit misleading if you’re going into a purchase believing it is like the blush shade. Oh well!

I that thought, I will say at first I thought it looked a little zombie lips on me but I’m getting used to it and even liking it now!

Tarte Glisten Lipsurgence Power Pigment originally launched in the Tarte Beauty Without Boundaries Set on QVC and later became available as a full, permanent collection in a range of shades. These are a little thinner in size than the chubby lip pencils you might already have from Tarte. Each pencil has a different whimsical wrap around the barrel that kinda mimics the shade in the tube. They have the same mint taste as the original formula and pack the same opaque pigment as Lipsurgence Lip Cream Pencils.

The formula contains shea butter and has a creamy balminess during application but they aren’t terribly hydrating through the four to five hour wear time. I’ve never fully understood the different between the Power Pigment formula and the regular Lipsurgence Lip Tint aside from the fact I find the original formula more hydrating.

I’m not going to lie I’m a little ranty Glisten Lipsurgence Power Pigment isn’t quite what I thought it would be (I expected shimmer and what I got was a cream) but you might just love this shade if you like a more nude lip look!

I’m a fool for all Tarte! Then they go and have a huge sale, jerks 😉 I love that they’re both cruelty free and quality products that are natural beauty enhancing and not war paintesque. BTW Isabella you look great in so many different shades, jealous!
