Tarte How Sweet It Is

I recently picked up the cute Tarte How Sweet It Is Set ($14) from Ulta.com which includes a Tarte Sweet Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush and a Tarte Sweet Lipsurgence Lip Tint. Anyone who loves Tarte Glisten Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush will adore the Sweet Blush! It’s a gorgeous shimmering peachy pink that’s perfect for Summer.

Have a look!

I was a little worried about the Tarte How Sweet It Is Set because lately Tarte’s blush formula is a little lacking in palettes they release. I find the textures very dense and a bit on the drier side compared to individual pans. So yeah, I was a little skeptical about this set and worried the smaller size would perhaps suffer a bit in formula.

But not the case at all! This is a delightful texture with excellent pigmentation and wear and just as delightful as a larger size Tarte Amazonian Blush! The blush is a deluxe 0.05 oz which is identical in size to the Tarte Holiday Collection Blush Sets such as the Tarte Chic to Cheek Amazonian Blush Set that released with the Tarte Holiday 2014 Collection.

I can see myself hitting pan on this shade as I really love it. Hopefully they release it in a larger size at some point and make it permanent because personally I feel like Tarte really excels at creating gorgeous glow-y shades of blush but sadly it feels like the Amazonian Blush Collection lacks such shades. On the upside, if you run out, no need to sob yourself silly as the shade is quite a lot like Tarte Glisten. It seemed a touch more pink and lighter versus the apricot of Glisten but the shades are very, very close in color.

The formula is excellent and gives cheeks a gorgeous luminous glow. The color is a beautiful shimmering golden pink but not a NARS Orgasm dupe in the least as this leans towards being way more pink where as Orgasm is more peach. The color wears strongly for a solid 12 hours as promised with a denser top layer but a silkier one beneath. It’s small yes, but the size doesn’t forsake the quality and it’s just as good as the larger size Tarte Blush shades!

Also included in this set you’ll get a 0.06 Tarte Sweet Lipsurgence Lip Tint which is a perfect match for the golden pinky peach of the Sweet Blush! This is a smidge darker than the blush and gives lips a shimmering golden pink! Lovely to say the least. The Lip Tint formula is one of my favs! It has a balm-y consistency that adds a nice bit of moisture to lips. It does have a peppermint taste and flavor that I find pleasant but sensitive users might not love this.

At $14, the Tarte How Sweet It Is Set is a total beauty budget star! Yes, Sweet is a lot like Glisten but honestly I don’t mind in the least as this is my favorite shade of blush and more is always fine by me. This also happens to be a nice set for Tarte newbies as it gives you a chance to try out some of their products without laying out a ton of cash. I’m quite happy that the quality is here too as I’m always a little skeptical of little sets like this as sometimes they skimp on the quality but no worries, quality is excellent (Made in the USA).

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Omgosh! I love the blush shade so much! It looks so sweet on almost any girl I think..It looks good on you too Muse! The golden pink shade does not perceived too much too! <3

I think I’m the only one in the world who doesn’t like these peachy pink shades with gold shimmer… However, I just prefer matte or satin blushes on myself. It looks nice on you though! I’ll be waiting to see what they put out for the holidays! (Of course, that will mean reorganizing and possibly decluttering my blushes to make room, but Tarte blushes are my favorites!!!)

I agree with you I don’t like peachy shades or shimmer colors.

I have Glisten blush a full size. I got it at Sephora. I love it. Glisten is a Nars Orgasm dupe but with more staying power.
I am debating on getting this set as I already have the blush. The lip looks nice.

WHAT!? Tarte is killing me. I can’t decide what shades I want so I keep buying more. Now I want this too!!!!!!!!

I completely agree with you on the similarity to Glisten. I just got this in the mail yesterday and when I opened it I walked over to check it with Glisten. Very very similar but I love Glisten so it’s nice to have travel size (says the Tarte blush hoarder LOL).

hehe I’m with you total tarte blush hoarder 😀 I think this is a smidge lighter so I’m happy they aren’t completely dupes!
