Milani American Beauty Rose Powder Blush Review & Swatches

Milani American Beauty Rose Powder Blush

Milani American Beauty Rose Powder Blush ($7.99) is one of three limited edition Summer 2015 Rose Powder Blush shades that are available now on Milan’s website for purchase. As a fan of Milani Rose Powder Blush I admit to not being terribly excited about these new shades. It’s not because of the formula as I’ve always enjoyed the Rose Powder Blush formula! It’s just because the shades they release are quite repetitive.

What set the new limited edition shades apart were the fact all three had a luminous finish versus the satiny matte finish of many of the past releases.

Let’s take a peek at American Beauty!

If you read my prior review of the Milani Blossomtime Rose Powder Blush you realize that the luminous finish on that shade was quite stunning! I did not get the same effect with the Milani American Beauty Rose Powder Blush sadly but it still is a very nice shade none the less!

Milani American Beauty Rose Powder Blush Swatches

Milani dubs this one a true rose pink with a soft gold pearl. I thought it more a dusky mid-tone pink but didn’t really see the gold element personally but it does have a slight sheen on my cheeks versus a gold pear or luminous one. The texture, like all of the Rose Powder Blushes, does feel a bit dry, swatches a little chalky, and is powdery but it applies beautifully with excellent pigmentation and a wear of eight hours.

As you can see the blush has a raised 3D rose design design. I love that the design never disappears from these blushes even with daily use!

I wouldn’t say that Milani Blossomtime Rose Powder Blush was my favorite from the limited edition shade as I did want a touch more glow from it but it is a step in the right direction. I’m glad Milani went glow-y for Summer and I hope they do more shades like this in the future. Don’t get me wrong the original shades are just as a lovely but I’m loving the hint of glimmer of these new shades for sure.

It’s pretty, but yeah, I wish there was some more gold shimmer/sheen to this. Have you tried the Disney Dare To Dream Luminizing Stick in Free Spirit? It’s only $3, has a beautiful gold sheen, and I pop it under my blushes. It’s LE, so I got a backup

I haven’t tried any of them yet! I keep passing them by at Walgreens! I should try!

Oh Muse, you NEED to give them a try before they are all gone! I have really nice highlighters from Becca and Colour Pop, but the Disney is my fave right now. It has good wear time, extends the staying power of powder blushes, and gives the matte blushes a beautiful gold shimmer. Or you can use as spot highlighter. Not glittery at all.

I agree with you Isabella – the last blushes were better. This is way too pink
