Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub6

Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub ($18) is one of several new Pacifica Skincare Fall 2015 launches that will be added to the permanent Pacifica Skincare Collection.

I wanted to give Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub a try out because I’m always on the look out for scrubs that will deflake and smooth my dull, dry skin and give it a bit of a glow.

Let’s see if it did that!

Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub

Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub is a water and glycerin soft cream facial scream that contains fruit extracts and jojoba. It’s main draw for me was the promise of brightening and reviving duller skin. It contains a range of good for you skin antioxidants but nothing dramatic enough to “improve the appearance of fine lines” as per the description on the box.

This is a thicker cream with a grainy texture that’s highly fragranced with a fresh floral blend. I loved the fragrance but sensitive users might not love how much fragrance is in this product! The scent is very strong here, pretty yes, but quite strong!

The texture is quite lovely and feels like a heavier cream yet is easy enough to massage into skin. To use the scrub simply wet your face and massage a small amount onto your face. I find the texture isn’t gritty enough so I didn’t feel like it did more in the way of exfoliating my drier skin. After use my skin felt softer as the scrub is quite hydrating but not necessarily smoother. If you like something that’s more gentle you might enjoy this formula. Personally I require something a little gritter to break down my drier skin and flakiness.

All in all Pacifica Skin Revival Micro Dermabrasion Scrub isn’t a formula I personally love. I think the texture is lovely, it rinses clean away, and it does leave skin soft but not stripped. However, I didn’t feel like it did much to exfoliate my drier skin. I need something a little more harsher for my dry skin. If you like a more gentle facial scrub this one might work for you!

I don’t think I’ve ever found anything that beats Origins’ Modern Friction.

Hmm, perhaps you should try enzyme exfoliation. Enzymes are the true exfoliators, not harsh scrubs which usually damage skin an irritate it. It’s what I use and love it. I also have normal/dry skin. Pineapple enzymes are generally the most concentrated and effective. Though this does contain pineapple juice, it isn’t the same. I love their “common sense caution.” Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review. I think I’ll pass due to fragrance. Sensitive to that
