Star Trek Uhura Makeup Bag

As a geeky girl I relate well to other geeky girls especially ones in my favorite films, series, and books. Although my life is filled with many geeky woman characters by far the one that stands out for me the most would be Uhura as played by the stunning Nichelle Nichols. I’ve always felt like Doctor Who and Star Trek reruns watched as a child were what shaped my geeky path in life.

Star Trek reruns on channel 9 after school were totally a thing for me. At this point in my I can probably play Uhura’s part in any episode or any of the characters as I’ve watched and rewatched the three seasons several hundred times.

So of course, I find this cute Star Trek Uhura Makeup Bag a total must have!

Ya know, you never saw Uhura applying her makeup but she always looked spot on didn’t she? I think it’s because she always stayed on board when landing parties were launched. That girl never left her station. How very unfair that she never got in on the action! I think she could have totally took out the Gorns by batting her lashes but she was never given a chance.

None the less I’m sure she kept her makeup essentials in a wicked makeup bag much like this one. This generous size bag takes a nod at Uhura’s red shirt (yeah, she was one of the only red shirts that didn’t get killed if you’re up for that theory) with a magnetic closure, zipper closure for extra security, generously sized mirror, and even a Gold Star Trek themed lining!

My thoughts are if you’re going to carry around a makeup bag it should be wicked geeky cool yes?

And this bag so is!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Every time some company explains that girls don’t do X or that women don’t spend money I go “maybe because you’re ignore a LOT OF POTENTIAL IDEAS??”

If the muppets can have a nail polish line (bless you OPI) then the Avengers could have a special eyeliner! Or Spiderman could have a line of lipsticks! And Deadpool could be skin are (*koff* okay maybe not, but let’s be real here, if my sneakers could be super clever undercover marvel characters, I’d be really happy!).

Love this! Uhura was awesome. It was so nice as a little girl to see a woman on a sci-fi show who was intelligent and didn’t need saving all the time.

I grew up watching Star Trek, had a crush on Captain Kirk and thought Uhura looked awesome
