About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I seriously feel like I need every one of them. Hopefully I can hold out until the next sale.

I think most of these, unfortunately, are exempt from their sales and percents off..

As usual everything looks so pretty and the packaging whore in me immediately makes grabby hands. However Tarte is getting really repetitive imo with their LE/holiday sets as well as their seasonal collections. I know Tarte is all about the natural look, but it wouldn’t hurt to see a few pops of brighter or even pastel colors. Anything but the same taupe/brown/plummy neutrals over and over again! Also, am I the only one that misses their large box sets circa 2009-2011? >__<

    • Jackie

No, I miss those sets as well. 🙁 At least they had a variety of fun colors. Hopefully, this palette features some diversity in terms of the shades. 3 out of the 4 quads look very, very similar in the picture…I hope they are more different than they look, otherwise I may just have to pass. 🙁

  • Maria

Hi Muse. I have that portable set from last year. I wonder if the shades are similar. I also wonder if there will be a blush compact like last year with 5 blushes in one large compact. I love that. I love Tarte. I also love their lipsurgence. Yikes. my wallet.

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Maria, there will be a wallet blush set! Just waiting on images and I’ll post 🙂 and also a lipsurgence and a lipgloss set and other goodies!

  • Kharanya

Pass. Everything always looks the same or is just slightly different as the previous limited edition stuff. It’s not like I have a huge stash and have burnout either, just became completely indifferent.

All I’ve bought so far this year is a Tarte Concealer and the Tarte Liquid Eyeliner Tube and got a free Lash Primer I needed and I decided to close my eyes and splurge on the Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation I ended up totally loving.

I really hope some of the other holiday lines are more exciting. I wait all year for them, since they’re the best value. I love a great variety of mini products since I have yet to get through a full sized one (even foundation, I throw away foundations every 18 months unfinished and I don’t have more than 2 open at a time).

TARTE IS JUST SOOOO REPETITIVE TO ME. ONLY SO MANY LASH CURLERS, OR PINK BLUSHES, OR BROWN EYESHADOWS ONE CAN HAVE……

  • Rachel R.

No blush palette? I love last year’s Pin-Up Girl. I was hoping for another one.

I want the blush 4-pack. I got last year’s. I bought last years portable palette set, and I like it, but I don’t find myself using it as much as I thought I would. I don’t like the packaging as much on this new one.

That chunky, studded handle on the eyelash curler looks really painful.

  • Monica

Im getting the eyelash curler 🙂 I got the last year one and I need this one as well 🙂

  • zVintageFashionizta

Tarte always has gorgeous holiday sets and while these look good I’m sure they will have some that will appeal to me, from this selection I am only interested in the 4 piece brush set.
I hope they have a brush set this year because I missed last years and I was so upset.

  • Marasy

Everything looks pretty but the eyeshadows and blushes look too similar to last year’s sets. I started collecting Tarte’s holiday palettes in 2012, along with Urban Decay’s Vice palettes, and I may have to skip Tarte’s because its hard to justify another holiday neutrals set from them. I’ll wait to read reviews or to see in person before I decide.

  • Amy Z.

Tarte’s holiday packaging is always so beautiful. I’m tired of all their similar brown Amazonian clay eyeshadows though 🙁

  • Amber

Oooh! That’s what I’ve been waiting to see. The tarte and Be sets. I usually stick to those because it ends up being a lot lol! I love the lippie set but I wish they would do the liptints not the cremes. Some of those get too bright for me. Love the blushes and the set with the changeable compacts. I have bought those the last 2 years so will most likely get that one too! I want to see what Sephora has special for them this year. Last year’s was good! 🙂 Thanks for the information. I have officially started my lists!

  • Penny

I really love all of the Tarte products I have, but these holiday items really aren’t exciting to me…they usually come out with some really big holiday set on the Q, but unless the one this year is just really something awesome, I am sure I will pass on that as well….I still have stuff from two holiday seasons ago. 🙁
