Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit

Oily skin? Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit to the rescue! The Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit ($34) not only reduces the appearance and curbs oil but it also includes a sample of the brand new Shy Beam which is a new, never before seen highlighter from Benefit Cosmetics.

Let’s take a look!

Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit4

I can’t stress enough how much I love this little set as it contains essentials that have gotten me through a very warm and humid week here in New York! The set includes four essentials for concealing the look of pores while controlling oil plus a highlighter to brighten up your complexion.

I really like these little sets from Benefit as they not only include a variety of products but also a handy little Tips and Tricks guide that gives you excellent instructions and diagrams for placement of the products on your face.

The set comes housed in a little box with a flip top lid. Inside you’ll find the how to guide attached to a generously sized mirror and a tray that holds the five products.

You get:

  • 0.15 oz Shy Beam
  • 0.25 oz The POREfessional
  • 0.05 oz The POREfessional: license to blot
  • 0.05 oz The POREfessional: agent zero shine
  • 0.25 oz Dr. feelgood

This contains my all time favorite product from Benefit which is the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine. I have drier skin and I don’t really love setting my makeup with powder but Agent Zero Shine has always been part of my daily line up because of the great way it curbs shine in the Summer. It keeps my face matte but never dry and never adheres to drier areas plus it sets invisibly so it doesn’t look pasty or chalky! It’s one of my top product recommendations for oily skin! You do get a smaller sample in this set with a tiny brush to apply which is just enough, in my opinion, to fall in love with it!

You’ll also get Benefit’s cult favorite creamy primer, the POREFessional! This silicone primer has a nice creamy consistency that absorbs easily and eases shine while concealing smaller visible pores around your face. Now two new items in this set are The POREfessional License to Blot and Benefit Shy Beam. How funny we were just discussing primer sticks yesterday when I posted about the new Philosophy Instant Miracle Worker Erasing Blur Stick! This is a nice little stick you can carry around for touch ups that can be used over or under makeup. It’s kinda like having a solid version of your favorite primer as you can just swipe it on, blend it out gently, and it creates a smooth, semi-matte finish on your skin that visibly reduces the appearance of finer lines and pores. I like swiping it under my eyes prior to concealer to fill my finer lines and give my concealer something to sit on top of so it doesn’t cake and crease.

The best part of the box is the sample of Benefit Shy Beam which isn’t yet available anywhere else. I love this stuff and it quite reminds me of a way more pigmented version of Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base. You can think of this as a matte and creamier version of Benefit High Beam! It’s a creamy, light pink texture which you can use at the sides of your eyes to highlight and brighten the area. USERS BEWARE! This is very, very pigmented so a little goes a very long way. I actually started to use it under my eyes prior to concealer as it has such an incredible brightening effect and makes my eyes look peppy and awake. Loves it!

And finally you get the product that started the primer balm revolution in this set and that would be good old Dr Feel Good. Before there was Mally Face Defender, before Covergirl TruMagic, there was Dr. Feelgood. The good Doctor is a solid balm which you can smooth onto your face on or before makeup to create a super soft, smooth appearance. He’ll fill up pores, smooth skin, and create a more matte, even finish so makeup looks incredibly smooth and natural!

Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit9

Needless to say the Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit is such a great way to experience some of Benefit’s newest and greatest products. This little box of beauty tools will prove a great pick up for oily skin users or those that suffer with visible pores.

I tried Dr. Feelgood once years ago. It broke me out like crazy. I’m someone whose skin usually doesn’t react to much and will get one or two pimples around the time I ovulate (TMI?). With that lovely balm, which did leave my skin looking very nice the first couple of days, I got like fifty pimples. It was amazing/horrifying.

oh no Dia! 🙁 Sorry chica! I’m not prone to break outs but silicone primers typically do a number on me but are better over the last few years but I still can’t use Smashbox’s primer, that stuff makes me feel like ants are crawling under my skin!

I got a sample of that Agent Zero Shine in my stash, will have to give it a try! I also got sample of the Porefessional, but unfortunately, silicone primers don’t agree with me atl all–they always feel heavy on me, like my pores can’t breathe, and they suck all the moisture out of my +40 face. But I know many people swear by it.

I’m just wildly disappointed that they didn’t take the chance to say op-pore-ation

I have the Benefit POREfessional one. hmmm I like it cos it makes the skin smooth, but one downside is it emphasises my dry patches after applying foundation. Or I need to moisturise my skin more…? hmm.. I need to do a few more tests hahah 😀
