Catrice Prime and Fine Healthy Look Primer Review & Swatches
WAKE UP! Or get a little help from Catrice Prime and Fine Healthy Look Primer which gifts yo with a “wake up effect and soft focus effect” so your skin ends up looking wide awake even when you aren’t.
I always have a difficult time achieve a healthy glow as I have drier, duller skin! This shea butter and argan oil primer lightly hydrates as it preps skin and has light reflecting pigments to create an instant brighter, healthier appearance.
Plus it’s not too hard on the wallet!
I do so admit when I first got Catrice Prime and Fine Healthy Look Primer I was skeptical as it apparently contains “light reflecting pigments”. I have a fuller face and I try to avoid getting my complexion glow on too hard as I feel like it makes my fuller face look even fuller! Thankfully this formula isn’t a glow-fess nor is it a shimmery disco ball finish. It does add a hint of light to skin but nothing dramatic or shimmery!
Out of the tube it’s a light, creamy texture that absorbs easily into skin and leaves it lightly hydrated. As a girl that has drier skin and no visible pores (aside from smaller ones on my nose) this is ideal for me as I prefer hydrating facial primers versus silicone ones. This smooths skin and creates a nice moist surface for foundation to adhere. I’d personally never apply foundation without primers as it adheres to my drier areas. A nice moist primer allows foundation to apply more smoothly plus my foundation doesn’t stick to my drier areas.
Catrice Prime and Fine Healthy Look Primer is a bright shade of orange-y peach. Although, as I mentioned above, they say it contains light reflecting pigments I really didn’t notice any major shimmer or glow from the formula. It doesn’t however, lend a nice, healthy brightness to my skin! Kinda that look you get after washing your face at the end of the night! If I could only capture that look up in a bottle and sell it as a natural, nude foundation! Call me crazy but the “I just washed my face” look is always when I’m looking my very best and that’s kinda sorta what Catrice mimics!
I wouldn’t say it’s pigmented enough to act to even out your skin tone but it does indeed give you a brighter appearance some how and a very, very subtle glow! Funny, as there are brands like Make Up For Ever that have similarly shaded face primers that will cost you far more and Catrice’s formula is merely eight bucks but delivers the same effect on the cheap!
If you suffer from duller, drier skin that needs a little wake up call Catrice Prime and Fine Healthy Look Primer will bring back your glow and brighten up your complexion!
