Practicing to be a mermaid? As far as I’m concerned we should all run away and become mermaids! But to make it a little easier we can just grab the Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Eyeshadow Palette and play at being one instead!

The Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Eyeshadow Palette is filled with an array of 32 vibrant shades of eyeshadow that’s perfect for the aspiring mermaid plus there’s a few nude, natural shades in here too for those days that we have to be a normal human being.

Recently, Makeup Revolution hopped across the pond from England and made its home on Ulta. Ulta seems to be the go to spot for European brands lately with the likes of Makeup Revolution, Essence Cosmetics, and Catrice popping up on their site.

The Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Eyeshadow Palette is a cheap as chips $15 palette that pays home to 32 lovely little eyeshadows. It comes housed in a slick black compact with a generously sized mirror and an metallic aqua box to hold the compact in!

Mermaids aren’t the only ones who will love these palette as it not only plays home to cool blue and aquatic shades but also a range of other vibrant colors as well as many nude, natural browns and earthy greens as well. So whether you’re going natural for a work day or you’re planning on a trip under the sea this palette has an eyeshadow shade for you!

As to be expected with such a budget friendly beauty there are a few hit and miss shades here that run a bit drier than the rest but for the most part these colors are nicely pigmented with a velvety texture that applies easily and wears quite well on primed lids. I didn’t have issues with colors fading nor did I have problems with fall out! Just have your shadow primer handy as these colors perform best with primer under them! Not only are

I consider it a practice palette of sorts for those who are just getting into makeup as there’s a very nice range of colors here with an easy to use formula that blends fairly smoothly. So if you’re just starting out using bold, vibrant shades of color this is a nice, inexpensive way that’s great practice for creating not only vibrant looks but also really pretty softer ones too!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. You should see the Makeup Revolution display at my local Ulta. Picture Walmart- shelves knocked crooked, products stuck here and there…and it’s been like that both times I’ve been there, so it’s not like you can say nobody had the chance to organize it. It makes it so unappealing even though I know the products are good!

    • Isabella Muse

Wow sorry to hear that. My Ulta doesn’t yet have it in stock but hopefully it’ll be better organized when it does hit my store!

    • Monica

Yes mine too! I went back & it looked like they were changing their set up, which was odd because the original end looked permanent. I guess it’s a good sign that the area was well shopped! However, I did buy one palette, Girls on Film, & I’m obsessed!!! I’ve used at least one shade from it every day since I purchased it. I’m DYING to buy a few more.

Have you checked out the unicorns unite one yet? Has just a little bit more pinks and purples.

  • Fey

Oh my gosh! That bright aqua shade with the dark eyes and the pink blush. ~Perfection~

OMG! This palette is nice and all, but it’s you’re teal eye look that I’m loving. Usually I look at the photos and I’m like, “oh, she looks nice in that”. But this look? Yeah, you should be wearing it everyday. You seriously look amazing.

    • Isabella Muse

awwwwwwww thanks! I used to love aqua eyeshadow but I don’t use it much anymore because my eyes are starting to get drier and more finely lined :-/ Thanks! That totally made my day Koochicken! Maybe I can still use it!? 🙂

      • Katherine T.

Muse, that teal/aqua looks gorgeous on you! Yes, keep wearing it. As for the eye area, have you tried Paula’s Choice Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum -it comes in a silver barrel, and is very gentle and safe for the eye. I’ve been using it for years, and it has erased all of the crepy skin on my lids/inner corners, and almost all of the fine lines and crows feet. I just turned 46, and I’m still rocking shimmery and metallic shadows in many colors. I also use her sunscreens on my eyes and face.

        • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Katherine! I actually tried it but didn’t like it 🙁 I ended up going back to my beloved philosophy miracle worker pads! Maybe I need to retry it! GOOD FOR YOU! 🙂

      • koolchicken

If you have fine lines then you’re the only one who can see them! And you know what, I don’t see why anyone can’t wear any color or finish they want, regardless of age. One day I’m going to have fine lines too (although thanks to Nana Sullivan maybe not, lets all cross our fingers) and when that day arrives I’d like to think I won’t just shelve all the shimmery fairy princess shades I love. You look fantastic in that color. Don’t let a little thing like lines get in the way of looking fabulous.

        • Isabella Muse

ha THANKS dear! 🙂 I agree, you shouldn’t limit yourself ! I’m just paranoid I can’t pull off bold shades anymore 🙂

  • kellly

My Ulta store doesn’t stock this and the website shows that it’s not stocked in any stores even as far as 100 miles away from here — not that I’d drive 100 miles for eye shadow (*cough* of course *cough*). I know I can order online but eye shadow is something I always have to see in person to evaluate.

  • Nataile Brown

I’ve been wanting this palette for awhile now. The shades are gorgeous! I love the pretty blue look you put together too. Thanks for the swatches. 🙂

  • Zoey

I am so super on the fence about this palette! The colors are beautiful and look like they’d compliment my collection well, but I’m not sure about the quality? How many of the individual shades would you say are duds vs. how many are great? I guess I’m trying to get a sense of how easy this palette is to work with and whether I’ll be too frustrated to make it work (I tend to go for cream eye shadows blended with my fingers most of the time, because a lot of powder eye shadows can be hard to work with). Thanks!

And I agree with the commenters above, the turquoise looks stunning on you!

    • Isabella Muse

Hey Zoey! Half and half! I think the lighter shades are a little bit of a pain to work with as they are sheer and some of the darker shades are chalkier. If you’re easily frustrated with fall out it might be an issue. It’s a nice starter palette if you don’t have a lot of loud shades but if you’re an experience makeup users I don’t think it’s a great pick! Aw thank you <3!
