About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Im so over urban decay…i always buy and never use anything…they are not gonna get me this year…everything looks like all of their old stuff….blah

  • Heidi

Those dark jewel-toned shadows are calling to me. My wallet hopes I can resist, though!

  • Krystle

I agree with Joanna. I love UD, but their collections have slowly been becoming one-note and interesting.

  • Courtney

Id have to agree with some of the comments above. I like Urban Decay but their eye shadows don’t excite me like they used to, like 5 years ago. I love reading about the new releases and seeing swatches but nothing of theirs really excites me anymore. Le sigh…

  • Carrie

Is it just me or are they launching a bit early for their holiday collection? Either way, Vice 4 will be mine!

  • shanna knepp

girl i am so confused on the release dates of these palettes i keep seeing everywhere that they both release the same day on urban decays website on the 16th please please let me know the exact dates i dont wanna miss neither of the palettes and your blog post is the best to get info from

    • Isabella Muse

the spectrum is October 20th and the other products are Sept 12th on Urban Decay’s website Shanna. They won’t be available at other locations for at least two weeks as UD typically previews first.

  • Amy Amethyst

I want Vice and Spectrum, but Vice looks like it would be more travel friendly and that’s what I need.

  • Victoria

I’ll have to get the Vice, but I kind of wish they’d go back to doing smaller themed palettes rather than just dropping a couple of big ones back to back.

    • VIOLET

Even though it’s the “Holidays,” I totally agree!! It’s just too much of everything great all at once but not enough money all at once, Honestly!!

  • Melissa

I am super excited to try their waterline pencils. Their regular 24/7 pencils are by far the best, so I anticipate these will be superior as well ….

    • Isabella Muse

Nope, I have the dates for the release on the bottom of the post hope this helps!

  • Kimmy

You ladies who are sounding off about Urban Decay being stale-I totally agree. I worked for Urban Decay at the corporate level about 5 years ago and I can tell you that everything that they have done in the past 5 years is totally boring, not progressive and is lagging behind other brands that are pushing boundaries of eyeshadow technology and formulation-something urban was known for. It’s sad to me that they have flat lined. I currently work in product development for a different cosmetic company and even I am creating things that Urban hasn’t yet done. I keep wishing that they would do a throw back collection. If they were smart they would re-release some of their old shades that were popular in the 90’s and put it into packaging that looked trendy and cool. The whole grunge makeup movement is back right now and they started it!! How sad that they’re not capitalizing on it the second time around!!!

    • VIOLET

TOTALLY AGREE ON EVERYTHING you wrote!! I remember when they very first started out as Hard Candy!!

      • VIOLET

Also, 1 word- GASH!! WHY in the world did they have to get rid of that eye shadow..? Acid Rain as well!! And their packaging really often leaves something to be desired in QUALITY! That has just seemed to keep getting worse yet they keep jacking up their prices and THAT is NOT pretty!! (In my Personal opinion it is due to and they can get away w it because of all the “youngsters” to their brand. No offense to anyone but just saying.

  • Melissa

I can’t wait to order the vice 4! It will be my first vice purchase. Does anyone know what time it will be out? I don’t want to miss this.

  • VIOLET

SOOO WANT the Urban Spectrum Palette, it’s colors are finally perfect for me since for the past few years I have not gotten excited over any of theirs’ like I used to… BUT, now that I know about the Gwen Holiday release I am in horror because I SO cannot afford all three!! DARN!
