Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Tranquility Perfume Oil Review
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Tranquility Perfume Oil is one of a few limited edition perfume oils introduced for Fall 2015 in celebration of Lilith’s Birthday (she’s the daughter of Elizabeth and Ted who own and operate Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and Trading Post).
Both Elizabeth and Ted have been creating limited edition birthday perfume blends for Lilith since her birth. It’s a rather special little nod to their beloved daughter and also fun for collector’s of Lab perfumes.
I actually have a very soft spot in my heart for Ted’s blends as his are typically very foody in nature and many have notes of coffee which may seem odd as a perfume but believe on skin it is absolutely decadent.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Tranquility Perfume Oil is inspired by Sunday family breakfasts with notes of breakfast cereals, spilled milk, and bits of banana with hints of coffee. It manages to capture the feeling of sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday morning as a child slurping cereal from a bowl while watching cartoons.
In the bottle it’s completely and utter banana! I was so excited at first sniff as I love fruity blends and this was all banana. Wet on my skin the banana comes through very hard and smells almost like a banana flavor taffy or candy of sorts.
The banana note is very fleeting because as it dries down I get a sort of oak or wheat cereal note. It’s not any cereal I can describe really because it isn’t sweet at all but more like a Cheerios in milk type of smell. It’s very comforting on my skin but not quite like the breakfast I envisioned as a child which would be over sweet cereal with tons of milk.
I like it because it’s a bit of a contrast. First banana and later on a very oat-y milky blend that feels rather soothing and relaxing on my skin!
It’s unique that’s for sure.
