Catrice Illuminating Highlighter Pen Review & Swatches

Catrice Illuminating Highlighter Pen

Catrice Illuminating Highlighter Pen ($5.99 or Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off at Ulta) is a cutesy little silvery pink illuminating pen that you can stroke across cheek bones, down the bridge of your nose, or onto high brows to add a bit of a illuminating glow to your face.

If you’re a fan of Benefit’s more expensive High Beam, Catrice Illuminating Highlighter is a nice little dupe up as the shades are pretty darn similar.

P.S. When did “strobing” become a makeup lifestyle? It seems everywhere I look brands are promoting strobing. Jeez, I must be old because it’s all highlighting to me. I guess the cool, fancy kids are cooling it strobing though 😉

Catrice’s Illuminating Highlighter Pen is exactly that, a pen! Simply twist the bottom and the pale pink highlighting will flow into the attached brush applicator so you can stroke it easily onto your face and go!

This is actually an excellent highlighter as it isn’t overly shimmer but does provide a silvery pink highlight to cheek bones that’s ideal for use after contouring. The formula is a soft, creamier consistency that blends easily.

Now, I’m not expert when it comes to highlighting but this little pen is fairly easily to use! I like touch a little on my high brow to give my eyes a lifted, I slept eight hours appearance!

I agree, Muse, the whole “strobing” thing seems quite silly. Just call it highlighting for Pete’s sake.
I will say that I have tried a few Catrice products and this brand is becoming a fast favorite of mine. Everything I’ve tried I loved (lipgloss, eyeshadow, mascara). I only wish it was in stores not just online. I’m constantly in the Ulta store but I rarely order online from them since they don’t have free shipping. They need to offer a flash shipping deal like Sephora has!

I must me old because I’m all “WTF is strobing?!” haha 🙂 yay! Happy to hear it. I, too, have become quickly in lust with them. So cheap with so many great choices plus good quality for a budget brand! You do get Free Shipping on $50 or more at Ulta but when you’re buying something like Catrice it can be hard hitting that 50 mark!
