It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must-Haves Eye Set

The It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must-Haves Eye Set is a new, limited edition It Cosmetics Holiday 2015 Gift Set that comes with the new It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must Haves Eyeshadow Palette. Think of the Naturally Pretty Must Haves Eyeshadow Palette as a little travel friendly version of the beloved It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Palette.

At this point we have a total of three full size palettes with the recent launch of the The Romantics Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Palette and adding this little palette on makes four so there’s room for dupes you can imagine. One of the main questions about the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must Have Eyeshadow Palette was, “Are these shades already available in the full size palettes?”

No, these are not eyeshadow shades available in the three full size It Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes but there’s definitely some room for dupes. The It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must-Haves Eye Set comes with six eyeshadows and one Transforming Hello Light shade as well as a mini Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara.

This palette is designed in the style of the original Naturally Pretty Palette comes housed in a pale beige pink cardboard casing but it does lack the velvet-y casing of the original which is a plus in my opinion as that case tends to collect lint and dirt, etc…The inside is a pretty metallic rose gold versus the gold of the original.

The shades you’ll get are:

  • Happy (pale creamy white)
  • Believe (light taupe gray)
  • Naturally Pretty (sandy pink dune)
  • Inspire (terracotta pink)
  • Brave (bark brown)
  • Empower (purple brown)
  • Transforming Hello Light (light shimmery creamy beige)

As I said many of these colors are variations of ones that already appear in past palettes. For example, Happy is a shade that makes an appearance in some variation in all three of the original palettes. In the Naturally Pretty Palette the Happy Eyeshadow shade would be most comparable to the shade Sheer Joy, In the Naturally Pretty Celebration Eyeshadow Palette it is most like Snow Angel, and in the the Romantics Palette the shade is like Peaceful. I think it’s a bit more of a creamier, brighter shade but it is a variation of the color that’s easily duped across the board.

There are other shades that have similarities but I think Happy is the one that is most easy to dupe. I will say that Believe, Inspire, and Brave aren’t shades that are likely found in any of the palettes.

Yes, the shades appear similar but I don’t think any are exact dupes aside from Happy!

As with all the palettes the quality consistency remains the same. The shadows have a soft, silky consistency that applies and blends super easily. This is the matte formula of my dreams! The colors are so soft and easy to blend. I experienced a little patchiness with Empower but aside from that all the colors were fairly easy to apply and blend. For my look below I sheered out Brave on my lid using the Transforming Hello Lights shade and I highlighted with Happy and smudged out Empower heavily on my lash line by using it wet as a liner of sorts. The finished look is kinda a smudgey smoky look. I liked the way it came out.

I did feel you had to kinda sit back and think about a look using these colors as they don’t always match up well together and certain shades are difficult to use together because you can’t get any contrast of definition since they tend to run together due to sheerness. They also don’t really feel like they’ll work together well! For example, Believe makes for a nice smoky grayish eye but I wasn’t sure what other shade in the palette would work with it.

I won’t go into great details about the Hello Lashes Mascara since I’ve reviewed it extensively in the past but I will say this is a great mascara that adds excellent length and fullness to lashes.

I think for fans of It Cosmetics this is likely a set that will be a given to get. There are seven total new shades in the palette but as I said they are variations on past colors from past palettes but not exact dupes so that’s something to keep in mind prior to a purchase. It’s a nice travel along palette but for me, personally, the shades were a touch to mismatched and difficult to use together which I think takes away from the palette a little bit. I wish I could have gotten at least two solid looks from the palette but it was more about creating several individual looks using a single color in each look. Now that isn’t a bad thing but I’d rather have something a little more intricate using one or two shades versus something more basic and natural with one if that makes sense.

None the less the quality here is what we’ve come to know from It Cosmetics so that alone might be a good reason to purchase. Or if you just want to try out It Cosmetics for the first time this might be a good place to start.

I’m kind of disappointed by their holiday sets this year. I should have grabbed their lip gloss set and eyeshadow palette last year. Those items were more exciting to me then this years 🙁

  • Dee

Mine came yesterday and I’m loving it, although I do agree that a few of the colors seem out of place with the others. I like the packaging much better than the velvety ones.

    • Isabella Muse

Right? I wish there was a touch more variation in the shades, maybe some more basic mattes like a matte lighter brown and tan versus the unusual gray shade. I do too! The velvet ones are nice visually but they aren’t so great when using them as they pick up dirt, lint, etc 😛

Mmmmm I think it’s debatable Gina. It really depends on if you really like these shades. I’d say you can do some nice looks with it but if you don’t already have the Naturally Pretty Palette I’d use the $28 towards purchasing that instead. If you do have it and just want something travel friendly for simple looks this might be worth a haul. The colors didn’t grab me completely, I wish there was a little more variation here! Hope this helps!?

I bought the first Naturally Pretty and Romantics, and also Celebration last year, so I will be skipping this set. I’m actually more excited about the mascara than the shadows!

I use my naturally pretty palette almost every day, but lately I’ve been reaching for my Lorac palettes more. Their pigments are so much richer in color. I would still recommend the It Cosmetics eyeshadows, but i totally agree that the different shades seem to blend together TOO much because they are so sheer.

  • Susan

Dang, never tried this brand, Muse. But I think this is the matte palette I’ve been searching for. Thanks, Miss Muse.

Why does the first picture show the regular Hello Lashes but the 2nd picture shows the Hello Lashes Extensions mascara? You also say it includes a “mini Hello Lashes Extentensions mascara” in your post but when I checked Ulta’s website it says and shows the regular Hello Lashes. I’m just wondering because I prefer the Extensions version a lot more.

  • K

I don’t normally use contrasting shades, usually one shade and I just go heavy on certain parts of my eyelid. these are beautiful.

  • Lori

I really like these colors on you, Muse! I think you look exactly like the name on the palette: Naturally Pretty! Not over done, but a very nice effect! I’m also glad to hear that these are new shades ~ I’m definitely picking up this cute little kit! 🙂

I’m not sure if this helps anyone, and I may have read about it here, so forgive me if I am repeating you Isabella.
If anyone is on the auto delivery plan with QVC, like me, for the matte seasonal trios here are the shades in each trio…
    1. Pretty In Spring: – Fresh, a soft beige, – Blissful, a satin soft nude, – Serene, a satin deep taupe
    2. Pretty In Summer: – Bare, a matte pale nude shade, – Sweet Bliss, a matte soft pink shade, – Free, a matte soft lilac shade
    3. Pretty In Fall: – Soft Cashmere, a matte soft cream shade, – Lovely, a matte delicate mauve shade, – Fairy Tale, a matte rich plum shade
    4. Pretty In Winter (the only one that hasn’t been delivered yet): – Blanket, a matte soft cream shade, – Ginger, a matte warm ginger shade, – Chocolate Smoke, a matte deep chocolate shade

The set above was too cute and not gaudy looking to not pick up for the 13 and 14 year old nieces for a little Christmas gift! I know one of my nieces has been using a greyish shadow with a liner brush for her upper eyelash line and it looks beautiful on her! Both of them just seem to have a natural gift with applying makeup! At there age me putting on makeup would have looked like I got ready for the circus!

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Nicole! As always you’re super helpful 🙂 I hope you and your family are doing well xoxoxox!!!!!!!!!!

      • Nicole

No problem, I just noticed a couple that shared some similarities so I thought I’d through that out there just in case anyone decides to get the seasonal trios on auto delivery. I’m excited for the winter one to come, NOT winter itself lol, just the shadow trio!
My family and I are hanging in there as best we can… Thank you for thinking of me.

        • Isabella Muse

thank you Nicole! I wrote you a personal email, please don’t feel the need to reply, I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you today!

  • Raquel

    Isabella,
I purchased the IT Naturally Pretty Set at Ulta after Christmas! It was the last one in the store & because it was a “holiday special” they said they would not get more in-stock… so of course that made me want it even more! I was really excited to try it because I love IT Cosmetics, but I’m disappointed at how sheer the eyeshadow looks when applied (& btw, I always apply Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion before eye makeup). The color pay-off is just not good enough for me 🙁 I imagine applying the eyeshadow wet would help, but I don’t want to do that. I would love for you to share any tips or tricks you may have for applying the Naturally Pretty eyeshadows! Any suggestions would be helpful because right now I’m thinking I should just return it!
    Thanks lovely!

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Raquel sorry for the delay! I’m sorry to hear the color pay off was so bad for you 🙁 Try applying a cream eyeshadow under the shades to intensify them. Something like NYX Milk Cream Eyeshadow Pencil is great or even a MAC Paint Pot. Let me know how you do! Hope this helps! xoxo!

  • sherri columbus

    Hi 🙂
My daughter bought this for me for Christmas a couple of years ago and I JUST ran out of it all. I LOVE it! Is it available anywhere now?

    Thank you Sherri

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Sherri not this particular palette but the larger Naturally Pretty Palette is which is just as lovely!
