Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil7

Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil ($30) is something I purchased for myself during the Sephora 20% Holiday Shopping Event! I’ve been wanting to try Farmacy for a while now and their cleansing oil sounded rather ideal for my drier skin so I purchased it at a discount during the sale!

I’m a cleansing oil junkie but the problem I’m finding is that many of my favorites are drying my skin out lately. If you have drier skin do try Fancl Cleansing Oil and Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil as they are ideal picks that do not strip skin.

Or better still try out Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil as it is a perfect pick for drier skin.

Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil

Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil isn’t a traditional cleansing oil by any means in my opinion. This unique formula is actually activated with water so rather than apply it on your skin dry you’ll be mixing a bit of water with it in the palm of your hand, allowing it to emulsify slightly, and proceeding to apply it to your skin. Anyone that uses cleansing oil knows that this is typically reversed as you’re supposed to apply the water to your dry skin without using water. Once you’ve massaged it in you add water to break it up and emulsify it and proceed to rinse.

Not the case with Farmacy’s formula as they want you to add a bit of water to the oil to thin it out and you can proceed to massage it into your dry skin and later rinse with water. Interesting right?

It’s actually not a formula I’d recommend for oily skin as it leaves a bit of a film behind after rinsing. Which I like because it makes my skin feel very nicely hydrated after use. In this way it quite reminds me of Pacifica’s new Instant Karma Cleansing Oil.

It’s actually different in the fact that it also lacks mineral oil and is created with Safflower oil which is a natural solvent that acts to break down oil based makeup according to the brand. It also contains echinacea purpurea that contains cichoric acid which helps protect skin by supporting collagen. These ingredients all seam to act together to not only remove makeup but hydrate skin so I come out of a cleanse feeling a lot less tight and way more moist.

I didn’t really like the fragrance of this oil. Granted it actually contains no fragrance but it still has an odd sort of rubbery oily smell that wasn’t very pleasant to my nose. I’ve since gotten used to it in the week I’ve been using it but it does deserve to be mentioned. What I do love is the packaging! It’s such a simple yet elegant glass bottle although I do worry I’ll drop it which would shatter it.

I think to some extent the “natural” makeup and skincare trend has died down some but there are still many, many, many ingredient conscious makeup and skincare consumers out there that will be happy to know this is formulated with naturally derived ingredients and is free of formaldehyde and artificial coloring plus the brand does not test on animals.

Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil might not be exactly suitable for oily skin but those of us with drier skin that feels tight after cleansing will appreciate this one for sure.

I liked it, a lot, and can see myself heading in for a repurchase after I use this bottle up!
