Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette

The new Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette for Spring 2016 arrives on November 15th at Ulta.com. The Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Palette is a new take on the popular Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette that launched last year with a warmer selection of eyeshadow shades! The original palette was all about hues of matte pinks, creams, and purples where as the new palette contains warmer, richer shades of taupe, creams, browns, and taupes in an assortment of finishes including mattes and metallics.

This palette is designed exactly like the original in the fact it holds 12 eyeshadows but the design is different on the face palette as this time it is decorated with a kaleidoscope of floral blooms in a watercolor-like print.

Let’s take a look!

Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom
The Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette is $45 this year versus $44 but still includes 12 shades of shadow which are the same size of 0.053 oz each.

You get:

  • Charmer (off white)
  • Jetsetter (warm taupe)
  • Rocker (shimmering taupe)
  • Smokeshow (black brown)
  • Flower Child (peachy nude)
  • Smarty Pants (tan)
  • Firecracker (bronze copper)
  • Activist (dark brown)
  • Funny Girl (champagne)
  • Sweetheart (peach)
  • Rebel (chestnut brown)
  • Leader (aubergine)

As much as I loved last year’s palette I must say that In Bloom contains an assortment of shades I’ll likely reach for most as I tend to like nudes, natural browns. I liked last year’s minimalist approach to packaging but I’m really enjoying the pretty floral burst on the palette! It’s a very pretty presentation. And good news, the name of each shadow is printed below each shade. The case also includes a very, very generously sized mirror should you be traveling with the palette.

I like the way the shades are arranged as four across match up to create a look or three down creates a look as well. So you never have to over think which shades will go with which. The shades are all arranged in a way that makes it easy to create a look. And hey, if you’re still having problems there’s a get the look card inside the box that includes instructions to create different looks.

Now they’ll be debate about whether or not you need this palette because well, dupes. There are a good deal of shades here that Tarte has done in past palettes but personally I think they are variation of the shades but not exact duplications. There are some real stand outs here (I’m talking to you Firecracker and oh you, Flower Child!) with one minor lemon which would be Funny Girl. Funny Girl is very sheer and provides very little color but outside of this the 11 others are perfect. I thought the mattes were super silky and it reminded me why I love Tarte so much as their mattes truly are fabulous and game changing for me. Now the mattes do dominate here with one satin shade which is Rocker, one metallic satiny shade which is Firecracker (truly a unique shade of bronze-y copper), and Funny Girl which is a frosty shimmer. Even though I’m a self proclaimed shimmer-a-holic, I actually love using and working with Tarte’s matte shadow formula! I did think that the original palette’s eyeshadows were a bit denser where as these are a bit more silkier and powdery. But don’t let powdery scare you as this does not translate to dry or chalky.

If you already own the original Tartlette Palette this is a considerably different palette as you can see. The original was more cooler, more sheerer, and fresher where as In Bloom is more about combining finishes and creating warmer, nuder looks. So it’s not a rerun of the original but stands up all its own.

I’m not where Spring trends are headed but I tend to embrace the nude look most in the Spring. I like that In Bloom combines different finishes so you can do a little matte combined with a pop of metallic on lids which will look amazing if you’re embracing the contouring trend that seems to have no end in site.

Yes, there could be potential dupes but I think the Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Palette will be appealing to fans regardless. It’s a palette you’ll likely make use of quite often if you’re one that loves warm, nude, natural shades of color.

Crap – not on sephora til December? Phooey… Guess I’ll have to grab it from Ulta as soon as it comes out then! 😀 Thanks for the heads up and swatches – I have been a total Tarte h00r this year – they’ve really knocked it out of the ball park as far as palettes go this year!

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure dear 🙂 I suspect it’s sort of a preview on Ulta and will sell out faster!

  • Maria

Thanks Muse for the swatches. Colors look very pretty. Wish there were some colors in the green and rose family.

  • Christina

Thanks for the early swatches! I can’t remember, Muse, but is this palette limited edition or permanent? I was trying to find the info in your post, but couldn’t find it!

    Thanks!

  • Colleen Gales

Hi Muse. Just wanted to say I love the website update. It looks so crisp. Good job !

  • Dee

This looks like a must have. I think the shades are beautiful. But spring palettes? I’ m not done with the holiday ones yet!

  • Carolyn2

What a lovely palette – Tarte has such pretty packaging.

    Looks fantastic on you, too!

  • Jenn

Hi Muse. As someone with Celiac, oily lids, and is a contacts wearer I love Tarte. I just ordered the Tartelette 1.0 palette and the Showstopper palette a week or two ago during a big sale, and this combines some of what I love about both palettes. While I don’t think I will get this ASAP, it’s a great thing to consider next time I need to get new eyeshadow. Thanks for the great review, and the beautiful eye look!
    You are awesome!

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Jenn! It’s so weird because I’m the exact opposite. My eyes are drier and I love using Tarte’s shadows too 🙂 They are so easy to blend and wear. Glad you’re loving on these and great haul on two two palettes 🙂 My pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo!

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Lola, everyone will experience different wear with these! It depends how oily your skin is. I have drier eyes and didn’t have any issues with fading or creasing. Hope this helps!?

  • Rachel R.

I love the original, so I was pretty excited for this one. I’m worried about the texture not being the same, as that was a huge draw for the original. Your swatches look fantastic, though.

    • Isabella Muse

I think the original was a little denser than this one. This one the shadows are softer and silkier 🙂 They do kick up powder.

  • Amy Z.

Thanks for the swatches! I like that in these palettes the shade names are printed right below the eyeshadow, as opposed to Tarte’s big holiday palettes that only have a sheet with the names printed.

  • Marcella

Hi Muse!! Just ordered the palette from Tarte direct. It’s 1:25 am my time and its on the Tarte site but not Ulta yet…So excited!! Just happened to still be awake and thought hmmm..I wonder if its up yet. Thanks so much for your reviews I really enjoy them.

    • Isabella Muse

aw my pleasure! glad you got it. Noticed it launched on Tarte’s site yay!

  • Tracy

Muse, I hold you accountable for my empty wallet… you swatches are always to die for ! I got the first Tartelette but don’t use it often. I was about to skip on this one until I saw your swatches !!

  • Kiss & Make-up

Ooooh what an overhaul, the website looks great!! 🙂 As does this palette.

  • Amber

I’m much more excited about this than the original. I love shimmery shadows too, and it looks like Tarte has got the formula down pat! Those matte shades are crazy pigmented! The top row is gorgeous!! Thanks for the pics and swatches. 🙂

  • Christa

Thank you for the lovely swatches! Just ordered from Tarte and soooo excited to get it

  • Mia

I was wondering if this palette doesn’t have the plastic sheet protector in between the mirror and the shadows like the other Tarte palettes? I just purchased from Ulta and it came without sheet protector and there was shadow dust all over the mirror.

  • JenJ

I need more eyeshadows like I need another hole in my head. How does this compare to the special edition palette that’s on QVC?

  • christine

I don’t have either but I can’t decide whether I like this one more or the first tartelette! I love the all matte from the first one but I think the shades in this new palette will suit me better! Decisions decisions!

  • Allison

So if I am a natural look girl and a makeup minimalist and am only going to buy this or the Gwen stefani one, which one should I get??

  • Terri

I’m on the fence on this one. I returned last year’s Tarlette palette because I found the shades went gray when I blended. That being said, I swatched these at Ulta and they seemed silkier, more like the Rainforest pallette which I love. Do I need this Tarlette 2 in my life?
    Thanks,
    Terri

  • Lea

Hey I just wanted to ask if you buy all the stuff yourself or do they send it to you 😉 love your reviews

    • Isabella Muse

I purchased this myself. If you looked on the bottom and the top of each post it’ll state whether I purchased it or whether a brand provided it for review. I buy about 85% of what I review and about 15% is provided by brands for review! Thank you! xox!

  • Rosalie

If you had to choose between this one and the original matte one, which one would you get? I have the rainforest of the sea palette so I think I’m good on the shimmery shades but I need to develop a good base of matre eyeshadows and can’t decide which one to get.
