Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint Review & Swatches
It’s cold outside! Time to indulge my dry skin in a little Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint. I happen to love me some Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream and Liquid so next logical step was to indulge in the Ceramidin Day Tint because I’m all about extra moisture around this time of the year!
My skin is on super dull, super dry mode currently. The weather is cold, the heat in my house is sucking moisture from my skin like a sponge, and it’s only going to get worst as the weather starts getting colder.
Although Ceramidin Day Tint would make a fine pick up for lightweight Summer coverage! I’m just craving it for not only the coverage but the extra moisture it can provide to my skin.
Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint ($48) is an all in one formula that hydrates, provides sheer coverage, and UV protection (SPF 20). I think the fact that Dr Jart is so well known for BB Creams plus this is an all in one formula things can be confusing as to what exactly this formula is. Is it a BB Cream? Foundation? Tinted Moisturizer? In my opinion, having used the product for a few months now I feel comfortably calling it a tinted moisturizer.
I personally migrate towards coverages like this. I like something sheer, something natural, something that evens out skin tone, and something that’s lightweight, breathable, and looks like my natural skin. This does all of that plus you get the added benefit of a good deal of moisture.
Don’t be scared, although moisturizing and quite hydrating this never feels heavy, greasy, or oil nor does it make skin look shiny. The consistency is a lot lighter in appearance and texture when compared to Dr Jart’s Ceramidin Cream which is far thicker and far more hydrating than this formula. I wouldn’t say it is a powerhouse of a moisturizing product but it does provide a nice bit of moisture and helps to seal that moisture into skin so your complexion will look plumper, softer, and a heck of a lot less dull. It does have the same herbally fresh fragrance that pretty standard across the board with the Ceramidin products in this line. I personally like the fragrance but it likely won’t be for everyone.
Keep in mind this is sheer coverage but it does provide a little more coverage than your standard tinted moisturizer. However, it still is fairly sheer but as I said I don’t mind and I prefer coverage like this. It’s just enough coverage to brighten, ease dullness, and even out skin tone. It’s sadly available in one shade which won’t prove a good pick for me come the Summer but right now it fits fairly well if not a TAD light but nothing noticeable one the rest of my makeup is on so I’m not left looking chalky or pasty. The shade is kinda a golden cream or at least it swatches like that but it applies as a lighter beige with light beige undertones.
I like how bright and less dull my skin looks with this in place plus I enjoy the fact it isn’t sucking moisture from my skin nor does it cling to drier areas. It applies, blends, and looks flawless. It wears for a short time though if you fail to set it with powder and it does sorta transfer onto my phone or the neck of my shirt if I don’t set it. So a little dusting of powder goes a long way at keeping it in place and wearing longer. Fade time is around three hours without powder and around six with powder.
I have to say I really liked Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint but I also wish it was a bit cheaper. They do provide you with a very generous 1.7 oz size but the near $50 price tag makes me wince. Make it smaller, say 1 oz, at around $25-$28 and I would like it a lot more.
But none the less for light moisture, invisible, natural coverage, and a truly beautiful, brighter complexion this seals the deal.
Dr. Jart Ceramidin Day Tint is available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.
