Kiko Shining Star Lip Lacquer6

Kiko Shining Star Lip Lacquer Shiny Liquid Lipstick ($11) is a new limited edition liquid lipstick that launched with the Kiko Holiday 2015 in four different shades. Like many Kiko products these have an excellent formula with a budget friendly price.

Let’s take a look!

Kiko Shining Star Lip Lacquer comes packaged in a festive red box ready for gifting. These come housed in a chubby little barrel that holds 0.2 oz of product and have an attached sponge applicator for application that saturates well with color.

Kiko Shining Star Lip Lacquer

This is a hybrid formula that has the consistency and finish of a gloss but the color pay off of a lipstick. This is a fairly thick formula with a good deal of tackiness and a high shine finish. Although tacky it wore comfortably on my lips for a solid four hours while retaining its shine quite nicely. Application is iffy on drier lips so work on as a smooth a lip surface as possible. I noticed when my lips were prepped well it was a smooth, easy glide but if my lips were dry color dragged, looked patchy, and color fell into my natural lip lines. I recommend exfoliating prior and applying a little Chapstick or soft lip balm before the gloss. These are highly pigmented so they do fall into the liquid lipstick realm but not only due to the opaque color but also because they wear so long! I didn’t notice a flavor or fragrance but they did have a little bit of an unusual taste but nothing fruity, sweet, or anything like that, just kinda a weird under laying flavor that I can’t put a name to. I did notice a very slight tingle after application but nothing that bothered me at all but I thought it worth mentioning for those who are sensitive. The glosses have no shimmer just a pure cream finish with a high lacquer-like shine.

I’ve been dying to try out some stuff from Kiko for a long time, but the shipping is 16 dollars even if you only order something small, so it is too robbing for me 🙁 It’s a shame because all their things I have seen seems so nice, too.

weird as they offer free shipping on a minimum order of $35! I never got charged $16 to ship…strange!

Maybe they lowered it, I haven’t checked for a few weeks. Would be nice if they have, I might be getting something after all then 😀

right now it is free shipping on all orders but it’s been free shipping since they launched the site on $35 orders or more. Weird you got charged $16!

Guess it depends on where you live, to my country it is still expensive 🙁
