MAC Revved Up PatentPolish Lip Pencil Review & Swatches
MAC Revved Up PatentPolish Lip Pencil is one of two limited edition PatentPolish Lip Pencil shades launching with the MAC x Ellie Goulding Collection on December 14th. Revved actually looks a lot like MAC Only You Lipstick on my lips in the photos below but I promise it is quite a different color!
Take a look!
Check your stash because MAC Revved Up PatentPolish Lip Pencil is actually a repromoted shade and still as lovely when it first launched! MAC calls Revved Up a creamy peach but for it is more of a golden peach nude. It’s a really pretty nude peach that’s for sure.
I’m not really all that into Patentpolish Lip Pencils. They shades are hit and miss for me as is the formula. It always surprised me MAC waited so long to introduce a chubby pencil. These launched in 2014 and since that time have popped up here and there in limited edition collections like the MAC Sharon and Kelly Osbourne Collection.
At 0.08 oz in size they are kinda expensive when you have a wide range of chubby lips pencils available from a ton of different drugstores brands at around $6 to $8 versus the $20 for this one. Even Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are cheaper at $17.
They are a unique formula though compared to other chubby pencils of its kind and the dome shape is also unique as well. MAC markets them as having the color and shine of a gloss. Personally the shine factor is kinda iffy and it really varies from shade to shade. Revved Up does have a nice sheen though so that’s something. I find the formula tends to drag during application and catches and falls into the natural lines of my lips. If you have drier lips these aren’t really smooth on.
The shade is tempting to pick up if you missed it the first time around but there are chubby pencils around that are cheaper and far more superior formula-wise.
MAC Revved Up PatentPolish Lip Pencil will be available with the MAC x Ellie Goulding Collection on December 14th.
