Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette 1

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette ($49) is a new, permanent eyeshadow palette that launched with the Too Faced Spring 2016 Collection which includes 16 Too Faced Eyeshadows in a variety of chocolate inspired shades with pops of candy hues.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette is the third chocolate inspired eyeshadow palette to join the Too Faced of chocolate products like the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Palette that released over the last two years.

I honestly like the Chocolate Eyeshadow Palettes so I was quite happy they decided to do another one. These collections always remind me of Valentine’s Day due to the hearts that Too Faced embraces lately on much of their packaging from blushes to bronzers. If you follow Japanese brands you might also feel like the hearts kinda remind you of Lavshuca’s packaging!

For the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette the brand went all out with the heart packaging! Even the shadow wells are small little heart shapes. I’m a kid at heart and I love cute packaging like this!

Let’s take a look!

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette 2

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow comes housed in a pretty pink tin compact with hearts decorating the front. Opening the palette reveals 14 little heart shaped eyeshadows and two rectangle eyeshadows for a total of 16 eyeshadow shades in matte and shimmer finishes. Each shadow name is written on the palette. Too Faced includes a how to get the look guide with easy instructions to create three different looks as well.

The palette is dominated by nude, natural chocolate-y shades of eyeshadow but there are little pops of color here and there like bright pink and plum. At a glance I felt these pinks and purples were very out of place and I was skeptical I’d be able to incorporate them into a look primarily made up of chocolate eyeshadow shades. But they actually are easy enough to slip into your looks and they even add a little fun to the standard natural eye look. For my look below I slipped a little of the hot pink shade, Totally Fetch, onto my lower lash line and it added a little playful candy pop to my eyes. I was thinking it would look pretty fierce blended at the outer corner of my eye as well! I’ll have to try that out next! 14 of these shades are brand new where as two are repromoted shades from past palettes.

I think the Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow has a nice combination of both matte and shimmer eyehadows. The mattes all have a very soft, silky consistency that apply beautifully on lids. I’m not a huge supporter of matte eyeshadows but when done right I really enjoy them and these all had a beautiful texture. Although a few of the shades wore best over primer such as Cashew Chew and Almond Truffle that tend to sheer out without primer under them. The shimmers have a soft, creamy consistency with some fall out but nothing too dramatic. These are Too Faced’s standard formula with intense color pay off and a velvety almost cream-like consistency. They blend and apply flawless on my eyes. Some of their shimmers do have a metallic frosty finish which can easily be diffused with proper blending.

As I mentioned above the palette is primarily made up of browns but there’s also a good deal of other shades here as well like softer taupes, soft dusky matte roses, and even plums. It seems a mismatch of shades but they colors all worth quite well together.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette takes us outside the realms of the same old brown eyeshadow palette and evokes a little playful color into the typical smoky brown eye look! I liked this palette a lot. The eyeshadows were easy to work with and blended well with plenty of pigment and it gave me the option to go soft and neutral, natural and elegant, or even allowed me to have a little fun with my standard natural eye look!

I bought this with my Sephora loyalty card and I’m in love! The colors are so wearable! I especially adore Earl Grey because at first glance it seems to be kind of out of place until you swatch it and see what a uniquely perfect partner it is to everything else in the palette. I admit that I was initially pulled in by the packaging but I really love what’s inside too 🙂 I can’t wait to see what the peach themed one is like, I need them all for sure!

Bought this with my Sephora $25 reward card! It’s so cute! Don’t think I can pull off that pink under my eye (would call too much attention to the dark circles, I’m very fair) but I’ll see if I can try it on the lid . . .

    • Isabella Muse

yay! So glad you got it Cindy! Try it under your eyes dear! I thought it would make my dark circles look bad but it didn’t 🙂

  • Denise

I ordered this on 12/8 from HSN, with the crazy good $25 off $50 deal from VISA Checkout. I guess since the palette only cost me $24, I shouldn’t be so annoyed that is didn’t even start moving for FIVE DAYS. To add insult to injury, they use UPS Surepost (a misnomer if ever there was one). I’ll be lucky to get it by New Years. But it’s very pretty!

  • Janessa

I saved my Rouge loyalty card specifically for this palette. It was delivered on Thursday and I was so good, I haven’t swatched it or even SMELT it. I wrapped it right up and put it in my stocking 🙂 I can’t wait to play with it. I use the other 2 chocolate bar palettes weekly. I recently realized that TF is definitely one of my favorite brands.

Question – I know Satin Sheets is one of the repromotes, but do you know what the 2nd shade is?

    • Isabella Muse

yay! so glad you got it Janessa 🙂 You’re going to love it! I dunno lol! I was trying to figure it out. Divinity I think!? I know Satin Sheets has been around but not sure on the other 🙂

My chocolate Bon Bons palette should be in this week, and I can’t wait to play with it! The other re-promoted shade is Totally Fetch, which I believe was originally in the Pretty Rebel palette.

      • Peanut

Hi Muse. Love the look! Do tell what lip pie you are wearing it looks lovely, as do you! Happy Holidays to you & yours, as well as all other MU lovers, junkies, collectors & hoarders who partake in celebrating the many holidays we cherish. For those who do not celebrate anything right now enjoy your time off from school, work, life, etc.

        • Isabella Muse

aw thank you peanut and you as well and your family. Gosh, I wish I could remember but I can’t! EEP! I remember cocktailing two shades but which shades those are I can’t recall! If I remember I’ll post back! Sorry!!!!!!!

  • Carolyn2

They look very pretty – the packaging is too cute!

I hope everyone who ordered had fun playing!!

  • Fannie

Love the colors in this palette, but not crazy about the packaging or theme. Kind of wished they would release both playful and more grownup looking palettes.

  • Jodi Maile

Wondering if this palette is more pigmented than the new urban decay Gwen steffani palette. For me- the urban decay one was a disappointment- I think I may like this one better.

    • Isabella Muse

UD Gwen Palette was full of lighter shades so they applied more sheer, this has way darker ones so much more pigment.

  • Katherine T.

I love the eye look you did, with the sparkling pink (Totally Fetch) on the lower lashline, really brightens your eyes! Totally Fetch is also in the Everything Nice holiday palette from last year, and I was afraid it was going to give me the pink eye look, but it’s very flattering as a pop of color on the lids.

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks Katherine! I wasn’t sure if Totally Fetch was new or not thanks for confirming!

  • The Silver Nail

I also like the bright pink under your lower lash line. Really makes your brown eyes look pretty! I’m looking forward to getting this palette when Ulta has it (wanna use my points).

  • Ruth

hey too faced, stop trying to make fetch happen.

i couldn’t help it, it was right there! this pallet looks awesome and will probably get it with my ulta discount and points.

  • celine D

I am anxiously awaiting to unwrap this for Christmas my hubby got it for me. It arrived yesterday and I took it out to make sure it wasn’t broke in shipping. I am in love with these colors and for me so far the chocolate pallets are something I wear daily they’re my go to and I ma sure this one will be the same. I love the purples and the grey tones in this one. Great review and looks Muse!

    • Isabella Muse

yay! I’m glad you got yours safe and sound Kelly! Enjoy when you do open and thank you xo!

  • Ester

This is pretty but has too much pink for me. I already have Naked 3 and will just wait for the Peach-y palette to come out which would suit me better I think. I love the Chocolate Bar and Semi-Sweet palettes, so I am okay with skipping this one.

  • Ciara

This looks amazing!!! Thank you for your beautiful review. I’ve bought so many palettes lately I was trying to hold out, but looking at your swatches, it looks too good to resist!!!
