5 Moisturizing Eye Creams for Dry Eyes

Moisturizing Eye Creams for Dry Eyes

I wanted to do a top 5 moisturizing eye creams for dry eyes post for a while now as many people asking me, “What’s your favorite eye cream?” I honestly can’t say I have yet found my holy grail eye cream. I have however, tried many and loved few.

I puffiness, finer lines, mild dark circles, dryness, and my eyes tend to look tired. I’ve eliminated hope of every finding an eye cream that treat dark circles but I have found ones that moisturize which in turn makes my finer lines look way better and also ones that make my eyes look awake and happy.

Now, this is a post about moisturizing eye creams for dry eyes so it isn’t a post you’ll find eye creams that treat finer lines or eye cream recommendations that will ease puffiness. My theory about finer lines is that they look all the more better if I hydrate. So if you’re having problems with your concealer creasing or caking into finer lines it likely means you need more moisture. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of awful concealer formulas out there but in most cases many can be fixed up easily if you have a good, moist eye cream to ease the way for application. Are you’re finer looks glaringly obvious? Do your eyes look tired? You need more moisture. When I look tired or my fine lines look they have a spotlight on them I typically need to get to work moisturizing the area. Once I moisturize I find my lines look smooth and plumped and my eyes aren’t as tired looking.

Moral of the stuff?

Moisture, moisture, moisture!

So here are 5 Moisturizing Eye Creams for Dry Eyes that I love.

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream $55 (Review)
So you want something super rich? This is it. Creamy, heavy, super moisturizing this eye cream absorbs easily and is ideal for night use as it works beautifully over night to add moisture to drier eyes and smooth fine liners so they don’t look so glaringly obvious. This eye cream is part of my nightly skincare routine especially in the Winter.

Shiseido Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate $65
Need something light yet powerful? This light gel-like cream absorbs in a snap and wears well under concealer and makeup. It provides intense moisture and makes drier eyes look quite lively. It also smooths finer lines so they aren’t as prominent as when they are dry. I typically apply this after my shower in the AM and follow up, after I’m dressed, with Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream. Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate is the type of product that seals moisture in so my concealer doesn’t end up creasing or caking into my finer lines and my eyes remain smooth and fresh looking all day!

First Aid Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm $38 (Review)
I just recently discovered Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm and it’s become a fond favorite already. This is SUPER thick and quite luxurious! It takes a little work to get it absorbed fully at times but sitting around tapping my under eye area is not great chore. As I work it in I feel like I’m giving myself a little massage. It’s very, very concentrated so a little goes a long way. It provides one thing only in my experience with it and that’s heavy duty moisture.

Hada Labo Tokyo Age Correcting Eye Cream $18.99
If you’re looking to seal in moisture this is your girl! Hada Labo’s formula absorbs easily and has a similar consistency to Shiseido Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate. I typically use this in the morning since it wears so well under concealer. It’s also a great layering eye cream as it wears well under other formulas so you can use this for moisture and use another eye cream to treat other concerns.

Skinfood Black Raspberry Eye Cream $14
This one promises a host of good things that will happen when you use it but what it excels at is moisture! I’ve been disappointed by it in the past as it promises a little too many things but I can’t deny it’s super creamy, absorbs easily, wears well under makeup, and provides plenty of moisture.

I hope these recommendations help out anyone who has dry under eyes. Believe, I know the struggle!

Hey doll, I’d love to mention your blog in an upcoming video for my youtube channel if you don’t mind! i sent you an email too but i figured this would be the best way to reach you! let me know your thoughts !

  • Fancie

Thank you so much for sharing this! My under eyes are deathly dry and no matter what I do my concealer creases almost instantly. I’ve only tried 3 eye creams so far which I liked but none of them have completely plumped up my fine lines so I’m still creased by the end of the day. I’m gonna try my luck with one of these though. I don’t think I have it in me to buy/try another concealer lol

    • Isabella Muse

Let me know if you try and of these Fancie and see if they work out for you! I’d love to hear your experience 🙂

  • yelena

hmmm I must have crazy dry under eyes because I have tried 2 of these 5 and I didn’t feel like it moisturized the way I wanted it to. I went to Sephora for recs on eye creams and was given samples. for the record I only used these for a week each, but I think that was long enough to sample. I tried Shiseido 24hr wrinkle resist actually left me feeling parched, same with the first aid triple remedy. :/

if anyone knows about something more moisturizing let me know, but for now I think I will go back to my old faithful – Clinique all about eyes (regular formula not rich).

thanks for the post muse, I may try the skinfood which I have heard you talk about a lot.

    • Isabella Muse

Oh no sorry Yelena! 🙁 My pleasure! xoxox! Hope someone else can recommend something better!

  • Chelsea

The Hada Labo Tokyo one is so great for daytime and under makeup, like you said! I feel like it makes me look a little more awake too, but I could be imagining things. I layer my thicker moisturizer over it at night.

But definitely cut open the tube when it feels empty! There’s usually a week or two worth of cream left.

    • Isabella Muse

Chelsea, likewise, I have to layer with it if I use it at night! Def not strong enough for nightly use but excellent for retaining moisture through the day 😀

  • Lana Luu

    THANK YOU!

Muse, this review couldn’t come at a better time.
My dry crackling undereyes thank you

I can’t tell you how badly I needed this post! The temperature dropped here rather suddenly and I am struggling. BTW I meant to tell you that I found the Shiseido eye cream at Marshalls for 19.99! I don’t know if you have one close to you but it is a total score if you can find it 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

haha I know likewise here! 70 and suddenly BAM 14 degrees! 😀 WHOA! NICEEEEEE! My Marshalls never has scores like that!

  • Carolyn2

Use the same two Shiseido products as you plus Tarte maracuja eye cream. All are nice – I used to get dryness in my inner corner but thankful that went away.

  • Kimkats

The shiseido one is *super* rich, and I can never get it to sink in… It stays greasy on me, even in winter. It does seal in moisture, tho, so I keep using it. Not sure I will rebuy when/if I ever run out, but it’s ok for now. During the day I like the Tarte maracuja bit. c stuff or the vomitoriously overpriced Fresh black tea age delay stuff. It’s normally $90 but I used the sephora VIB code from last month to bring down the price to quasi-reasonable. both nicely add moisture but sink in quickly and don’t stay greasy so makeup goes on nicely afterwards…..

    • Isabella Muse

You kinda gotta give yourself a massage with it 🙂 pat pat pat and gently blend blend blend. I never tried the Fresh one now you got me curious!

  • Katherine T.

Oh, this is great timing! With winter, my under eyes are really dry, and there’s dark circles too due to allergies, not to mention fine lines from aging. I’m going to check these recs out!

  • Jean

Have you tried Skinceuticals A.G.E eye cream? I’m on my 3rd or 4th jar. I’ll leave it but always come back, that’s the sign of a good eye cream when others don’t measure up quite as well! It’s my Holy Grail!!!

    • Isabella Muse

wow! I’ll have to try it jean, I’ve never tested that one out 🙂
