Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix Review & Swatches

Colourpop Lippie Stix Peppermint

Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix launched with the Colourpop Holiday 2015 Collection but it is such a lovely nude Spring shade I decided to throw it up for a review today. Especially considering that Spring 2016 Makeup Collections are the order of business.

Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix does not remind of peppermint!? Or candy canes? Nothing red or white striped here. This is a warm peachy nude with orange undertones that makes for a rather nice nude on my skin tone. I wouldn’t call it my ideal nude but I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a nice nude either! If you like a good deal of warmer orange in your peach you’ll get on fine with Peppermint.

I have a love hate relationship with Colourpop Lippie Stix myself. Some formulas are better than others (I really like the sheer ones). I do love the $5 price tag and really well presented packaging. This slim line click pencil has a slanted tip for easy application and holds 1 oz of product. Best part? The $5 buck price tag.

I find the Satin and Matte formulas are quite dry on my lips but they do have a very creamy texture that applies easily and wears comfortably. Color however, tends to fall into my natural lip lines so a lip balm or primer is necessary to keep the color smooth and even on lips. Like many of the Lippie Stix shades, Peppermint wears for a solid five hours without migrating or feather but sadly it is very dry during that wear. Some folks say these smell and taste like vanilla but I personally never get that myself

I found it very odd they released this during the holidays as it is more of a spring color, and it’s not red, like peppermint. Many of the ColourPop lippies are on the drier side, but I actually like that, because I always have to put SPF 15 lip balm on top or my lips will burn, and if the lipstick is too emollient, everything starts sliding off

right? Peppermint!? What!? 🙂 but it still is a nice shade! Likewise! The sheers are a lot nicer on me versus the satins and mattes.

I heart Colourpop!!! I placed an 80.00 order last night. I love their lippie stix and lippie liners. Trying their blushes, liners, and shadows with the latest order. I don’t have an issue with dry lips and the staying power is wonderful for me.

Muse you must try Laura Gellers lip oil. It was in her last TSV, but it looks like she will be selling it by itself on her site. It’s devine. Sheer tint of color, but your lips feel so soft w/o feel greasy. 🙂
