Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix Review & Swatches
Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix launched with the Colourpop Holiday 2015 Collection but it is such a lovely nude Spring shade I decided to throw it up for a review today. Especially considering that Spring 2016 Makeup Collections are the order of business.
Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix does not remind of peppermint!? Or candy canes? Nothing red or white striped here. This is a warm peachy nude with orange undertones that makes for a rather nice nude on my skin tone. I wouldn’t call it my ideal nude but I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a nice nude either! If you like a good deal of warmer orange in your peach you’ll get on fine with Peppermint.
I have a love hate relationship with Colourpop Lippie Stix myself. Some formulas are better than others (I really like the sheer ones). I do love the $5 price tag and really well presented packaging. This slim line click pencil has a slanted tip for easy application and holds 1 oz of product. Best part? The $5 buck price tag.
I find the Satin and Matte formulas are quite dry on my lips but they do have a very creamy texture that applies easily and wears comfortably. Color however, tends to fall into my natural lip lines so a lip balm or primer is necessary to keep the color smooth and even on lips. Like many of the Lippie Stix shades, Peppermint wears for a solid five hours without migrating or feather but sadly it is very dry during that wear. Some folks say these smell and taste like vanilla but I personally never get that myself
As we get nearer to Spring, you’ll find more and more brands pushing that a natural complexion at you that’s contoured and sculpted and along with that perfectly contoured complexion a nude lip look is always the order of business. Although released for the Holidays, Colourpop Peppermint Lippie Stix is a perfect nude for Spring looks!
