Essence Pure Nude Make-Up

Essence Pure Nude Make-Up ($4.99) is a new lightweight, sheer foundation that launched with the new Essence Spring/Summer 2016 Collection which is available exclusively at Target and Target.com.

The no makeup, minimal, natural foundation look is full in force this Spring and I think it will be a trend that continues well into Summer 2016. I’m personally a big fan of sheer, lightweight foundation coverage as I don’t need nor do I desire a heavier, full coverage foundation. I’m always looking for foundations that are sheer yet pigmented enough to even out my skin tone, brighten up my complexion, and create that my skin but better appearance.

That’s pretty much what Essence Pure Nude Make-Up does.

And it does it well.

Although there’s a ton of snow outside my window I’m still all about sheer, lightweight coverage and heck, sure I’m preparing for the warm weather ahead with lighter coverage options as Spring break is around the corner and I’ll need some light if I’m heading some place warm! This comes in a 1 oz plastic pump bottle that dispenses just the right amount of foundation out easily.

Essence Pure Nude Make-Up is only available in three shades but I fit right in with the second shade, Pure Sand. This a lighter beige with with a peachy yellow undertone. This isn’t my typical undertone of choice but it worked fine for me.

The promise of barely there coverage is exactly what this provided. It has a thin lightly moisturizing formula that applies very, very easily onto skin and absorbs easily without accentuating dryness or laying on top of skin unnaturally. It does set to a semi-matte finish within a few seconds of application and although I have drier skin it looked very natural and not dry in the least. It isn’t pigmented nor does it promise to be but it has enough of a tint to even out my skin tone and add a fresher, natural look to my skin that eases dullness. The coverage would be best likened to a tinted moisturizer. It wears for about five hours before showing signs of wear but you can extend that wear with a little powder.

All in all I liked it!

It’s $5 bucks and a perfect way to either embrace the current no makeup makeup look or just to pick up if you like more natural, sheerer coverage. With warm weather on the horizon this is a perfect pick for light, natural coverage!
