Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow and Kohl Liner Review & Swatches
Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow and Kohl Liner ($5.49) is a new double ended cream eyeshadow and eyeliner pen that launched in a recently Rimmel Spring 2016 display. A few reader’s told me they had tried these out already and they were old but I personally I haven’t tried them myself.
I love products like this as they are such a quick and easy eyeshadow application in the morning when you’re in a rush and just want to be done with your eye look in a hurry. Honestly, I had hopes that the Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayons would have turned out like Rimmel’s formula but that was a sad bust.
Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow and Kohl Liner are only available in three shades I believe. I personally only picked up one which was Queens of the Bronzed Age. I was a little confused by this color selection as the eyeshadow was a gorgeous bark brown but the kohl eyeliner was a lighter beige champagne. You’d think that the two shades would be reversed as who would see the paler beige against the brown eyeshadow? But they actually work great together and almost create an ombre effect of sorts on my lids. I applied the brown all over my eyes and I lined my eyes with the champagne beige and it really looked quite lovely! The champagne beige has a lovely sparkle to it which was easily seen over the brown. The brown was the more pigmented of the two but the kohl was pulled its own as well.
As you can see this is a dual sided pen with each side having a twist up design so no need for a sharpener. Both ends had a creamy consistency and an easy to blend formula. The shadow formula was creamy yet it was thick enough not to sheer away as I blended. It also didn’t set too quickly so I had enough time to blend and play with it before it set. The kohl formula was a little creamier than the shadow consistency and has a slicker glide. This took a little longer to set compared to the eyeshadow. I had no problems with either formula smearing, creasing, or smudging and both wore long and strong on my eyes.
I really liked this little duo! I thought it created this rather interesting effect on my eyes. I was a little skeptical you’d be able to see the lighter shade of liner over such a darker shadow shade but as you can see it worked just fine and almost created an ombre-ish look.
All in all a very nice cream shadow and liner duo that was great for super simple yet lovely look eye looks.
Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow and Kohl Liner are launching now at drugstores and I’m sure we’ll see them see at Ulta.com.
