Wet n Wild Lash-O-Matic Mascara + Fiber Extension Kit Review
Wet n Wild Lash-O-Matic Mascara + Fiber Extension Kit ($7.99) is a new mascara and fiber extension duo that launched with the Wet n Wild Spring 2016 Collection that’s available now at Walgreens. These fiber extensions and or sets are becoming increasingly popular at the drugstore for Spring 2016 as Physicians Formula recently introduced their Eye Booster Instant Doll Lash Extension Kit and also Length In Seconds Lash Extension Fibers launched with the Milani Spring 2016 Collection.
The Wet n Wild Lash-O-Matic Mascara + Fiber Extension Kit is kinda a cheaper alternative to Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System that launched in Summer 2012. I wouldn’t say this is a dupe of Too Faced’s formula but it is a nice budget friendly option to consider.
Let’s take a look!
Wet n Wild Lash-O-Matic Mascara + Fiber Extension Kit is a $7.99 kit that pays home to a tube of 0.37 oz mascara and 0.035 oz fibers. Just like Too Faced I can’t help but with the fibers were a little bigger as I tend to go through them very fast.
You’ll want to start you look by applying the mascara first, following up with the fibers, and finally adding another layer of mascara to set. The fibers are supposed to volume as well as length to your lashes. Considering the mascara isn’t great at either length or volume you’ll be thankful for the addition of the fibers.
I found the mascara formula mediocre but also essential. I didn’t feel this formula added any great length nor did it add volume to my lashes. It did however, separate them and added a small amount of length in preparation for the fibers. This is a very lightweight mascara that I had no issues with. It didn’t flake, it didn’t smudge, and it applied without clumps. Although uneventful it’s a formula that works well with the fibers. You don’t want something too thick or gooey to use with the fibers so in a way the lighter formula acts as a prep without overshadowing the fiber formula.
The fiber formula is much like Too Faced’s in the fact it has a cobweb-like design. It’s wrapped around a spoolie which can be easily stroked through lashes and it although it has a tiny bit of fall out it isn’t a big deal. I’ve had formulas like Physicians Formula’s new fiber duo that turned into a rather painful wear because the fibers fell into my eye and gave me a “I have something in my eye” feeling all day. With Wet n Wild’s formula although there was a little fall out it only happened during the initial application and it wasn’t painful or falling directly into my eyes.
As I said above the mascara adds a little length it doesn’t do much else. The fibers are where the real drama occurs. It adds a little more length and a nice fullness to lashes. I wouldn’t say the fullness rivals Too Faced’s formula but I would say the length does.
The Wet n Wild Lash-O-Matic Mascara + Fiber Extension Kit adds a nice false lash-like look the lashes. It’s easy to use, it wears comfortably, and the price tag just right. I liked the way it made my eyes look wide and doll-like. I also thought the fibers played very nicely with other mascaras in my collection.
All in all a nice budget pick up that’s worth exploring.
