Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask ($15.99) is one of several new Yes to Coconut skincare products launching for Spring 2016 at drugstores. I picked up Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask about two weeks ago at my local Walgreens as it was simply screaming at me to buy it since I have drier skin.

Let’s take a look!

I’m a sheet mask kinda girl. I use them a lot! Particularly now in the colder weather! I swear I go through a box of My Scheming Shea Butter Sheet Masks within a two week period I use them that often.

I just don’t really like cream masks as I don’t feel they are as effective as sheet masks since I’m washing them off. It feels like all that goodness rubs away with a damp cloths or rinses away with water versus staying on your face you know?

I kinda sorta felt that way with Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask!

I’m not going to say this isn’t a nice mask but I wouldn’t say it was the most hydrating mask nor would I say it is the cheapest. I was too impatient to wait on a sale so I paid $15.99 for it at Walgreens. Ouch! I can get a box of My Beauty Diary Sheet Masks for like $10 bucks or I can throw a few dollars more onto that $16 bucks and get something at Sephora. That’s a little much for a a 2 oz cream mask.

Price aside let’s chat formula.

This is a thick, cream mask that you can slather on for 5 to 10 minutes and wipe away with a damp cloth. You can’t rinse this one off sadly as it is very thick so it proves impossible to rinse away with merely water. So dampening a wash cloth and removing is the way to go. I don’t really like the wipe off to remove method myself as I feel like it takes away so much from the mask. I’ve been using this twice a week for two weeks and thus far I haven’t had any issues with break outs or any other sensitivities but it is rare that I break out when trying a new skincare product. My skin is drier and duller with flakiness around my cheeks and nose.

I wouldn’t say this was a cure all. It leaves my skin soft and a bit smoother but I still felt quite dry the next day after use. So it isn’t really a cure all but it does provide a little bit of light moisture. It does have a soft coconut milk fragrance that was very pleasant but deserves mentioning for sensitive types.

I dunno if the ingredients are anything to get to excited about. It’s a Water and Glycerin base with some oils from coconut, avocado, and other fruits.

Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask is a nice one for light moisture but I personally prefer a more hydrating sheet mask myself which has more lasting and moisture retaining results. This brings nice light moisture to my skin but considering I have to wipe most of it off not a lot of it remains on my actual face so not sure how much is actually absorbed. If you’re a cream mask kinda girl or guy you might like it but I don’t think it provides enough moisture for those with drier skin.

Thanks for the review, Muse! I was contemplating trying this but glad I held off now! What are your recommendations for a hydrating mask? My skin is super dry right now with flaky area on my cheeks and forehead. 🙁

my pleasure Nicole! I’d go with sheet masks both my scheming shea butter and my scheming African hydrating masks are both excellent options!

I am curious as to whether or not you tried leaving the mask on overnight? I often do this with hydrating masks as I feel it is more beneficial and really I think that they are just night creams marketed as something new 😉

My skin was always normal until I got closer to 40 & now my skin tends to be on the drier side, especially my under eye area. I’m addicted to skincare products, primarily sheet masks & mud masks, so I’ve tried a lot of stuff looking for that one product that’s gonna blow me away without killing my bank balance. I was digging thru my stash of sample sized skincare products a few weeks ago & came across a little tube of the Avenè Hydrating Moisture Mask (everything was in French so I had to pull it up on Google). I didn’t expect much especially after seeing that’s it’s a lotion type consistency but I tried it out anyway & OMG! This stuff is magical! I left it on for a good 20+ minutes & since it doesn’t dry down completely it never felt uncomfortable. I expected to rinse it off & my skin would feel soft just like if I had moisturizer on but this stuff really penetrates the skin. I have fine lines under my eyes & one wrinkle between my brows from years of squinting & they were gone! My dry patches were also gone & my skin was left soft, smooth & dewy. Avenè products are sold in Duane Reade, CVS & Walgreens here in NYC but I hopped on Amazon & ordered the full sized tube right away. I was that impressed &, like u, I try a ridiculous amount of skincare products so that says a lot. Like I mentioned earlier my under eye area is super dry which makes every concealer crease & look horrible no matter what I’ve tried but now I apply the Avenè Moisture Mask under both eyes & let it soak in for at least 10 minutes (preferably more but only if I have the time). Then I pat in as much of the excess as possible & tissue off the rest. The fine lines under my eyes are plumped up & the area is soft, smooth & ready for makeup & concealer. This has been the only product that has given me exactly what I needed, so far. A full sized tube is about $32 but totally worth ever penny.
