Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Pore-Cleansing Masks

Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Pore-Cleansing Masks ($32) are a new pore clearing mask that can be used around the nose, forehead, and chin area to gently exfoliate and remove dirt, oil, and makeup while reducing shine and minimizing the appearance of pores so skin looks smoother and tighter.

These are kinda a glorified do it yourself version of Biore Nose Strips or at least that’s what I got coming out of the experience using them. I think I like the idea of them a whole lot more than I actually like using them.

Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Pore-Cleansing Masks come in a box that contains eight masks total which are each individually wrapped. The first thing you’ll notice about the masks is they have a big old pod or “blue button” located right on the package. What you do is remove that little pod, press down on it, and a watery serum will squirt out. The other side of the package contains a mask, you’ll want to remove that before pressing on the pod as you’ll be saturating that mask with the serum. The mask kinda resembles an over large Biore Nose Strip. It actually fits poorly on my nose (the area I wanted to use these in the most) due to not only the larger size but also because the serum doesn’t saturate the entire mask and it’s rather dry so it slips easily off.

I have blackheads on my nose with smaller visible pores. This is the only area I really have issues with so this is where I tested this masks out. As I mentioned above the mask is huge so I felt weird with it on my nose as it went from nose and reached nearly to my ears. On top of this, it also kept slipping off because the serum doesn’t saturate the entire mask so there isn’t any real stick to it. I kept having to push the mask back into place. You leave the mask on ten minutes and there’s no need to rinse after use.

Just a note if you do buy these be careful as when pressing down on the little pod of serum it does squirt out everywhere so do it very gently. I got it everywhere my first time and even my second and third time it ended up half on my shirt and half on the mask. It’s a little difficult to squeeze them without getting the liquid everywhere. You might want to maybe punch a whole through them or snip with a scissors to avoid the mess!

Does the mask work?

I haven’t a clue because it just wouldn’t stay in place. The serum does have a tingly sort of feel on my nose and smells strong, kinda like witch hazel. They do contain menthol thus the cool feel you get when they are on your skin.

I tried to kinda pat a little of the serum on my nose and see if that did anything but I honestly didn’t feel this method or using the mask resulted in clearing my pores.

Shrug….!

Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Pore-Cleansing Masks seem like a good ideal but I think I’ll just stick to regular old Biore as it is cheaper and works better.

Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Pore-Cleansing Masks are available now at Sephora.com, Sephora, Ulta.com, and Ulta as well as Benefit counters.

I bought these recently, and I like them. I have heard that the sticky pore strips can actually damage your skin, so I like having a more gentle option. The mask stuck to my nose well enough as long as I wasn’t moving around too much. The pores on my nose did look clearer afterward.

The only downside is for me is the price. $32 for 8 masks is a little expensive considering I might want to use two at once (nose and chin). When I used the mask I just ended up wiping my forehead and chin with the textured side after it had sat on my nose.

I’m glad they worked for you!!!!!! I just couldn’t get it to stick 🙁 I agree, they are far more gentle compared to the “tearing” of regular nose strips for sure!

I was talking to the girl at the brow bar about these and she said you actually leave the strip in the package when you press the little pod and let it saturate in the foil. She also said to rub in the left over serum after you remove the strip… They seem a bit gimmicky to me to be totally honest. Loving the new matte pore rescue, though. Have noticed a definite oil control difference when I use it.

interesting! I’m going to try it that way! I did try applying directly to my nose but that didn’t do much! Awesome! I haven’t used it, too dry at the moment! 🙁

I’m unsure what I think of these… People are saying they’re good but they don’t really look or sound worth the money…

I’m going to go with your review and steer clear for a while. I think I would have to try a sample and take it from there.

I guess different strokes for different folks Nat. Sometimes skincare can be tricky and will work wonders for one person but not as great for the other 🙂 I chalk it to that! Personally I didn’t really like them and wouldn’t recommend them in all honesty! :-/ And thank you for trusting my opinion! Flattered!

How did you get all the serum everywhere? You’re supposed to pop the button first, and then open the package. This way, it’ll be fully saturated and filled with the magical serum. From the way you wrote it, it seems like you removed the mask first before popping the button.

    • Isabella Muse

Yup, that’s how I did it. It squired everywhere. Glad you liked them and they worked out for you! No such luck here 🙁

  • Venessa

The pod doesn’t have to be taken out at all. It’s simple, pop the button and the button releases the serum to the mask (while still being in the entire package). Then, open the slit that says “peel”. I guess you did it the wrong way and didn’t read instructions. This mask is a miracle and so much better compared to normal biore pore masks which hurt like hell to remove.
