H&M Eyeliner3

H&M Eyeliner ($5.99) released earlier last Fall in a gorgeous array of 15 shade selections. So far H&M’s new makeup collection has proven itself as being inexpensive and quite good! This is such a rarity with department store makeup brands as many times the formulas are just a hot mess.

But H&M re-branded, re-formulated, and relaunched its entire makeup collection for Fall 2015 and in doing so created some very nice, affordable makeup products that actually have a formula worth trying out.

I recently picked up H&M Eyeliner in Goldie Luxe and was quite pleased with, because hey, six buck eyeliner that’s actually creamy? I’m all in! I haven’t tried any of the basic shades like black or brown but Goldie Luxe had a subtle, metallic finish that added a dash and a flash of gold to my lash lines with a nice creamy consistency that glides on easily without tugging or skipping. It wore on my drier eyes just fine without smearing or flaking.

And did I mention it was only six bucks?! L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Gold does have a richer color pay off if you’re looking for stronger gold but Goldie Luxe isn’t half bad for the price and gives a nice little glint of gold on the lash line with a metallic finish.

I will definitely pick up a few more shades of H&M Eyeliner.

P.S. Have you tried their lipsticks?

    Hi muse!

I check your blog almost every single day! Thanks for the amazing reviews. 🙂 Will you be doing more H&M makeup reviews?? i’m so curious to see if the blushes, bronzers and shadows are worth a look at!

    Lots of love!!!

aw thanks Lejla! That means A LOT! 😀 <3! xoxox! I will. I'm trying to get through the line now, I don't have any of the blushes but I do have some shadows, will get those up soon!

Ooooh, thank you for this! I’ve been looking for a good taupe unfrosted eyeliner and this is something I’ve got to check out!

  • cecilia

I’ve got both the blue and taupe ones, they’re really good even on my hooded oily-ish lids. So much of the new HM stuff is so nice, I’m working my way through it a bit at a time, so far not a single dud.

likewise! I’ve been impressed so far! I WISH the concealer was more pigmented because I really enjoyed the formula!

Hi Muse – Love your blog. It’s so so helpful! How did you use the liner? Upper or lower lashline? I have something very similar but am struggling to figure out how to use it. Thank you!

    • Isabella Muse

both upper and lower lash line but not waterline because it contains sparkles! Why are you struggling? Struggling with application or how to incorporate it into a look? Thank you 🙂 so glad you enjoy Musings of a Muse! xoxo!

        Wow quick reply!

Struggling to incorporate to a look. Like you, I have dark hair, dark eyes. I feel like using a light coloured liner diminishes or bleaches off the look of eyelashes

ah ok but not with application right? You can use it with brown eyeshadow, do a color wash of a nice golden brown on your lids and apply the gold liner on your lashline and smudge it gently, it’ll lend a nice little glint of gold to your look. Do the same with the lower lash line. You can also use it in a pretty cranberry/gold look. Gold on the inner lid and a little cranberry on the outer lid and the gold liner on the lower lash with a little bit of your cranberry smudged out at the corner of your lower lash line. Try applying it before mascara and curl your lashes, apply mascara after you apply the liner so he color doesn’t make your lashes look bleached out 😀 Hope this helps!?
