Josie Maran Argan Vibrancy Foundation Fluid

The new Josie Maran Argan Vibrancy Foundation Fluid ($40) gets an early QVC.com launch in six shade selections for Spring 2016. Count me curious about this formula as it promises a lightweight fluid texture that provides medium to full coverage.

As with all of Josie’s products this is formulated with argan oil that apparently gives you a baby-skin finish that’s soft, hydrated, and vibrant.

I didn’t order it yet as I’m waiting on reviews myself as I was worried it might be a “glow-y” finish and I dislike glow foundations with a passion.

I will say I’m adoring all these fluid foundations lately. They are totally my type of coverage.

If you tried Josie Maran Argan Vibrancy Foundation Fluid do share your thoughts on the formula!

It should be available soon from Sephora.com as well but get it early at QVC.com and it also comes bundled with a foundation brush!

Ooohh… I’m definitely interested in trying this one! I don’t need a new foundation, and I just bought 3 since December, but if I can find a good shade match, I’ll bite the bullet. Her products are known to leave out many of the ingredients I like to avoid, so this may prove to be a good everyday option.

This looks fantastic, but I’m with you on the “dewey finish” foundations. I watched the live presentation on QVC, as well as the introductory video. Neither one addresses the ultimate finish. Some of the cushion foundations tend to slide right off parts of my face or make me look greasy, since I have combination skin. I wonder how this would react on the somewhat more oily t zone? It would probably be great for my dryer areas. Hmmmm… Kind of odd that the auto delivery gives you a new brush every 90 days, in addition to a new foundation. One would hope the brush would last longer than three months.

I watched part of it plus read some about it but yup, no one actually said the actual finish. “Vibrany” kinda sorta translates to glow-y in my world but maybe it isn’t!? I’m hoping it’s a nice light fluid with a soft, hydrated finish versus a glowy or matte one!

I checked the brand Facebook page, also, and it did not contain any additional information. I sent a Facebook message asking about the finish and suitability for different skin types. If I receive a response, I will share it with you.

It appears that the foundation leaves a dewey finish. Here is what the customer service associate said:

“This foundation never cakes or dries, instead it is a moisturizer and foundation all in one, drying to a dewy finish for the perfect glow! This light-weight pigmented formula is perfect for all skin types, as it contains a healthy dose of our signature 100% Pure Argan Oil. Our 100% Pure Argan Oil is natural and organic which makes it totally safe for acne-prone, combination skin as well as noncomedogenic. It actually helps to reduce the skin’s sebum production which is great for acneic or oily skin types because it helps to balance the skin’s oil production.”

Bummer. I will likely pass, at least until I have the opportunity to try it out in a store somewhere.

dewy I don’t mind but “perfect glow” scares me!

So, after reading a couple of reviews on the Josie Maran website, and dealing with dry, flaking skin for the past two weeks, I took the plunge and ordered this. According to at least one reviewer, and drive down to a satin finish, with decent coverage and no greasy/oily feel. We shall see…I will let you know my thoughts.

It just arrived in the mail today. Of course, as soon as I get home from work, I had to scrub everything off my face and try it out. The shade is very yellow (I got the light medium/electric). Other than that, I like it on first application. I think the coverage and appearance on the skin are very similar to the Too Faced Born This Way. The Vibrancy is a bit more satin, and the Born This Way is a bit more matte on my skin. The vibrancy does dry down all the way and absorb into the skin, even when applied over a water-based moisturizer/sunscreen . It does not feel tacky on my skin and it definitely could look natural if I had the right shade. I should have gone with the shade photo, rather then the QVC model, in making my decision. I have neutral to warm undertones and I look a bit jaundiced at the moment. That said, I can work with it to see how it wears throughout the day. I generally have my make up done by 6:30 AM and it stays on until at least 8 PM, so it gets a pretty good test of where time in a normal workday. I will be interested to see what this looks like in daylight. I will let you know how it holds up.

nooo not very yellow! 🙁 I hope they aren’t all like that. I can’t do yellow. On that note it does sound good though! Keep me posted! I’m terribly curious 😀

Isabella, I think you would like it. It can certainly be sheered out and, under bright lighting, the sheen of the finish reminds me a lot of the It Cosmetics CC veil, which we both like. The “glow” is reminiscent of a dewy finish setting spray. It does not appear to have the mica induced sparkle of the It Cosmetics Illuminating CC cream or the Revlon Photoready foundation, but I want to get a good look in natural daylight to be sure. Might be worth a stop at Sephora…

Cheryl so glad you updated 😀 I was curious after your prior comment I just read/replied too! It sounds good. Little worried about the yellow but still want to check it out! It sounds nice! Thanks so much for being the guinea pig and testing this one out for us 😀 xoxoxoxo!

You’re welcome! It wore pretty well yesterday, over one of the Biore Aqua suncreens from Korea (that you turned me on to, by the way) and a bit of Benefit Porefessional in the T-zone. By the time I jumped in the shower, after 16 hours of wear, it was pretty much worn off around my nose and upper lip (darned sniffles had me blowing my nose all day), but it looked pretty good for 16 hours of wear on the rest of my face. Dry around the eyes and a bit oily on the forehead and chin, but ALL foundations end up that way on me after a full day of wear.

One major consideration on color – QVC is only offering a basic collection of 6 shades, all of which appear to be available in store at my local Sephora. However, there are 14 shades available on line at Josie Maran’s web site and at Sephora on line. The additional 8 shade options include neutral and pink and yellow undertones in mutiple “depths”. The shade I selected did say that it was for light-medium golden skin. There was another option for light-medium neutral undertones, which I probably should have selected, since I am pretty neutral. However, the model on QVC looked fairly pink and she looked fine in the shade I selected. Regardless, there are more shades available than are being offered on QVC, so you can try those shades at Sephora and/or take a chance ordering on line from Josie Maran or Sephora for a more expansive set of options. You won’t get the brush, but it’s nothing spectacular anyway…just a standard issue stipple brush. Hope this helps!

SUPER HELP thank you as I was going to order from QVC until you mentioned there being more shades 😀 Thanks! I’m curious about this one so ordering now, it sounds good. ha! Glad I turned you onto to Biore sunscreen! Good stuff! Quick to absorb too! 😀 Thanks again Cheryl!

  • Rachel

Well, I ordered it quite literally the day I saw it on Josie’s website the other day. I couldn’t contain myself. I am a sucker for her skincare line (it’s changed the quality of my skin forever), so I jumped seeing a new makeup product. So I will let everyone know!

Hi guys! I bought this foundation in store at Sephora after having it color matched to me. I have fair skin with yellow undertones and the shade cosmic (g15) was perfect! I did not see that shade available on QVC and I don’t see the foundation available at all on Sephora’s website yet. I picked it up in a Sephora inside jcpenney. I am 21 years old with dry to very dry skin in the winter. (Where I live is still very cold.) The formula of this foundation feels very light weight on the skin and it DOES indeed provide medium to full coverage. On my dry skin the finish is satin. I wouldn’t call it super dewy, but it definitely isn’t matte. With a finishing powder you could definitely accomplish a more matte finish. I haven’t worn it all day yet because I just did my makeup for the day. So far it looks gorgeous! Sort of like a your skin but better type of foundation. I can check back in with the staying power if anybody is interested!

This is probably the fullest coverage of any foundation I’ve used (I’m not into full coverage, despite the fact that I probably need it!). I have VERY dry, VERY sensitive skin. I got a sample of this at a Sephora last week and today is the third time I’m wearing it. The first time, I applied it with a buffing brush and it looked like a mask. It was at night after I got home, so I didn’t wear it long, but I didn’t like how it looked and almost never tried it again. I wore it yesterday all day and it was much better. I applied with a damp knockoff Beauty Blender sponge and it really helped. And they MEAN it when they say a little goes a long way. It does have a slightly dewy finish, even after setting it with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. Not super dewy, but not matte….like others have said, maybe satin. It does NOT have any glow, which for me, is a little bit of a bummer. I love the slightly-aglow look I get from Urban Decay Naked, but the UD does seem to start to dry me out and make me flaky by the end of the day and this, so far, does not, or at least not as much. If I didn’t have the dry skin and texture issues that I’m currently having, I’m not sure if I would like this or not. It’s more coverage than I’m used to but it’s almost more flawless than I’m used to!
